Lining up for Chicago:

Derrick Rose - on an MVP mission this season. Orlando has trouble staying in front of opposing perimeter players at the best of times. Rose is lightning quick and has now added a very reliable jump shot to his game. How the Magic deal with him will be key to the game.

Keith Bogans - his mission this season is to prove that by sucking so much on offense, any mediocre defender can actually be labelled a defensive specialist, or stopper.

Luol Deng - quietly having a very good year. He's solid at both ends, Hedo will have to step up.

Carlos Boozer - combined with the improvement of Rose, the offseason acquisition of Boozer appears to have taken Chicago to the next level. He's averaging 20 and 10 in only 32mpg.

Kurt Thomas - Filling in for the injured Joakim Noah, Thomas is a savvy vet who still plays good D and will battle Dwight Howard hard.

Last Matchup

At the beginning of December, Orlando hammered Chicago on their home floor. However, that was their first game with Boozer still trying to get acclimated, and since then the Bulls have gone 22-7, including 16-2 at home. The Magic have obviously made big changes to their roster since then, so not too much can be from that result.

Rose will still be hurting, so that's a plus I guess.

We crushed Chicago in their gym last time, so I highly doubt it'll be that easy tonight.

Should be a fun one. Let's see if the boys can get another streak going.

Just checked their forum, apparently Rose is participating in shootaround, and is expected to play. As you say, though, he'll be hurting, doubt very much he's 100%.

Love this concept, very original!

Bulls have something to prove. We better bring it cause god knows they will.
let paid professionals do their job, don't you try and do it for them...

This would be a huge win, beating a team with a better record for one, picking up a game on the Heat for another. Match-ups indicate the Magic should win, but that is why we play the game.

That is a MUST steal for future game threads in Chicago.... Come on....we have Bogans....that material writes itself...

Thanks, panthermark. I almost did them for the Bulls players, too, but Bogans was the only guy I'd have been able to do a good one for. You're absolutely right, though - that guy has endless demotivtionals potential :D

The Bulls are obviously pretty good, and they may want some revenge for the last time, so this will be a tough one. A win against them and the Heat next Thursday is very important for placing.

I'm not sure about the Heat or Celtics, but I do feel that overall, we're still just a little better than the Bulls. We can win this game.

As long as Keith Bogans plays over 20 minutes, we've got a good shot at this.

I don't have the record but we are undefeated when he scores over 6 I believe. Last time we met you guys let him go off for 5 pts ... watch out

AWESSOME GAME THREAD!

Anyways. this is going to be a very, very TOUGH game!

We gotta play hard, with a lot of energy. Our defense has to tighten up, ESPECIALLY our perimeter defense with Rose/Deng.

We're not going to beat them bad like we did last time, but this is a must win! We can climb our way in the Eastern Conference starting today! Go Magic!
