Willjakkz saw a shadow, six more weeks o' SVG.
Seriously, why are we going through this again? No-one's saying he is a perfect coach, but he is a damn good one, one of the best, and he absolutely could lead us to a title.

Oh yeah of course... cause he's proven to be capable of making the right adjustments during a series or game... oh wait...

Is Jerry Sloan a "championship" coach??? He and Stan have the same amount of rings...kinda...Stan has one from Miami seeing as he was still a part of the organization.
BOOM!
And just to make the initial question that more silly to take in, here's one: Is Tyron Lue a "championship" PG? That guy has some serious bling...just saying.

Oh yeah of course... cause he's proven to be capable of making the right adjustments during a series or game... oh wait...Everyone wants to point to us making the Finals but guess WHAT?!?!?!??! KG Didn't play! SVG Had to make 0 adjustments during that series! Every other team we beat, we beat because we were flat out better then them (yes that includes the Cavs) And now guess what again?!?!? That is clearly not the case anymore
Boy I can't wait for these playoffs when all of you will jump off of this guys bandwagon.
You think SVG really had to make no adjustments against Boston? The Magic rolled over Boston because of no KG, and the team ran on it's own. And the Magic rolling over a 65 win Cavs team along with other opponents was so easy because the Magic were just flat out better.
So, SVG had nothing to do with the former Magic team because it was on "auto-pilot". Got that.
So, what you are saying is that the "players" being better were responsible for those wins. Got that too.
Why is it the case now that SVG gets the blame, while players inabilities to perform at high levels consistently are ignored? Isn't there a possibility that the Magic are just not "flat out" better than some of their opponents anymore......because of the players on the team?
There is a huge tendency by many Magic fans to inflate players' true abilities and fail to recognize weaknesses that these players have......and what these weaknesses mean to a team "collectively".
Red Auerbach and John Wooden would struggle here too.

Re: So Umm, Still Think Stan Is A "Championship" Coach?
I have to agree and disagree. Championship coach or not, being stubborn and close minded will hurt Stans chance at getting close again. I don't think its a bad idea to give these guys some more freedom. Stan is a dam good coach so it's hard to be a critic, but all these regular season games should be preparation for the post season, and his preparation tactics are very suspect at times.
Oh and LOL at people who say we may not have the pieces or you have to do with what you have LOL... We are talking about pros here in the NBA and mostly any player on any team has the ability to make a name for himself (we should know this as Magic fans). If you really think we don't have to talent and will on this squad to win it all, then you need to stop watching these Magic GAMES -- because that is all this is -- and if you can't trust this team to win, then why even be a fan. Not to mention we are a pretty skilled team with all sorts of styles of players, not only three point shooters. Get a clue people. We need to get our upbeat tempo back, and that comes with good positive coaching, sorry.
We are still doing well, but Stan needs to leave some of his emotions at home and get these guys ready for the playoffs, all of them. Oh and I'm tired of hearing about players being cold and shouldn't come in to assist on D with a fresh pair of legs. These guys get paid to be ready to have their number called.

Sure it's not Stan's fault that the shots aren't falling but it is his job to help find other ways for the team to score. Like I don't know maybe run plays for players to get to the line more and DRIVE. But only good coaches adjust and would do that but Stan lets them shoot jump shots.

YES YES YES A MILLION TIMES YES! I wouldn't even blame SVG if he tries something different like most coaches do but he does NOTHING! NOTHING!

I don't know what is worse, the fact that people want Stan fired or the fact that they actually want Larry Brown as our coach.

There are too many assumptions being made here regarding the guidance Stan gives to the players.

I would rather have Stan then Larry but we are stuck with him now. Last year there were still some coaches available but now none.

Our streak started on December 23rd and we had 5 in a row by Dec 30th. No time for practice.
We then have a few days off from the end of the year till the 3rd where we proceeded to win 4 more in a row in a span of 6 days.
We HAD practices in that time. My "never" just came quick. You already lose.

But yeah claim otherwise. There are still some people who argue the world is flat too. This idiocy is based on claiming to know what Stan's"system" is and what players choose to do on the court. Please forward either the playbook or recordings of directions given in Stan's voice or you lose again.
This claim that Stan's system only allows for threes and Dwight post ups is ludicrous and not a person posting in this thread has EVEN A SLIVER of evidence that players are told not to take it to the basket.
JJ is a spot up three shooter and he takes it to the basket at times. Is he violating Stan's orders or getting chewed out if it doesn't work? then why does he stay in and get major minutes?
Second request

I watch the Magic for entertainment and have supported the team since their inception. While I don't believe the overall nucleus is there for a championship as of now, that shouldn't prevent me from being a fan and supporter of the team.
Players are what they are with their track record and limitations, regardless of being a NBA professional, but there is some room for improvement/cohesiveness with the current roster.
IMO, the Magic ceiling of success is not on the same level as a few other teams. Things can change between now and June, so time will tell.
