Diaz vs Cyborg was pretty entertaining, but both those guys are not near the level of the UFC fighters in the same division.
Cyborg gassed in the first freaking round...what the hell is that?

The world, anyone he perceives to be weaker than he is, etc.

I lived in North Stockton (about 3 blocks away from the Diaz brother) for 4 years.....they would mouth off to anybody weak or strong.

trust me...the kids in stockton always got to prove something growing up there.

Trying to prove something kind of loses a little steam when you're making several hundred thousand dollars a year, no?

Agreed. People overrated Diaz because he is a big fish in a small pond. He would not be a top 5 WW in the UFC. The fight last night was a good, entertaining fight, but it is being pretty overhyped as well.

He's 28 years old and still acting a foo.....I don't think he will ever fully outgrow that mentality( that he's threatened in some way so he has to talk ish and puff out the feathers)......after all he does get paid to punch , kick and choke people out.....it's not like he has to repress those attributes,

I don't disagree with you, but that fact he gassed doesn't really matter. Maynard and Carwin both gassed hard in their last fights and they're top 5 in their respective divisions. Cyborg had an insane work rate in the first, and even though he was gassed he still brought it in the second.

But it contributed to his sloppiness.
I don't disagree with his work rate, he was cutting trees down with those kicks, but he really needed to pace himself a bit more.
Those leg kicks were brutal and would have paid dividends in the later rounds, but if you gas and can hardly breath before the end of the second, you need to rethink your strategy.

BTW, on a side note, I don't think there's a strike I like better than a hard leg kick. When you see the purple bruising start to appear, or a guy wobble, or dance it off as if 'that didn't hurt' entertains me like mad.

I am always scared this is going to happen again. Do not click on the link unless you want to see Corey Hill's broken leg again.

He makes Goldy look cooler by comparison which is hard to do.

I've grown to hate Goldy's commentary so much. All he does is read scripts. Freaking robot voice.

Mauro was much better back in the day, now it seems he has a competition with himself to see how much useless information he can give to the fans. I don't care about the Melvin Manhoef Youtube video during the middle of a Nick Diaz fight.

As to being biased, you could say all three commentators were in terms of their excitement when Diaz put the attack on in comparison to when Cyborg did the same. But why blame them? It's what they were expecting since Diaz was the favorite.

My issue with Goldy is his random emphasis on random words that may no sense.

"WELCOME....to another....NIGHT....of UFC.

For dude who is 48, Walker is in shape. Not a bad fight.

Nice sub for Gracie

Lawler should not have jumped into Jacre's guard. Should have waited for ref to stand him back up.

Nick with the armbar win vs Cyborg !

No, man, (as of the move to 170) Cyborg is for real. That was a legit win, Nick is legit top 5 WW.

Those kicks were insanity. You won't find too many guys at 170 who can hit harder. There was a moment in the first round where Cyborg looked a little out-of-breath, but I wouldn't call that gassing. Nick was hauling in some deep breaths at the end of the first himself. It was a **** intense round. But overall Cyborg was in great shape, I'd say.

I would have loved to see that one continue on the feet. It was a pick 'em up to that point; either guy could have taken it.

What does Nick do training-wise, exactly, aside from aerobics and technique? He has the arms of a prepubescent. It's very strange. Cool, I guess. "I'm not really into hardcore exercising" (Nick Diaz) is maybe my favorite MMA quote of all time.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

No way was Diaz screaming at Female Cyborg. He's usually a good winner. He immediately shows respect the moment a fight is done. That would be a completely insane thing to do, even for a Diaz brother.

That said, I don't know what he was on about.

He does triathlons, and spares with Andre Ward.

Dudes were throwin' beer at him and stuff and flippin' him off after the fight.

He let 'em know what he thought about that.

I saw the beer fly in after he won, and then Coker explained what happened with Helwani if you are interested.

Watched this event the other night...it was ok.

All four betting favourites won...shocking.

Gracie/Prangley seemed slow and sloppy. A win over Prangley is impressive for a guy who is now just 4-0, but his performance probably won't be striking fear into the heart of the LHW division, even Strikeforce's.

Walker/Carson was an obvious mismatch, and it played out that way. I guess there was some suspense when Carson was going for the leg, but the 48 year old with one pro fight was just too slick on the ground for that. I know it has the freakshow factor, but that kind of display does not belong on a major MMA broadcast. Maybe next time they can have Walker fight someone who is actually on the SF roster, instead of looking high and low for the biggest can with the best record they can find.

Jacare/Lawler was good. Took Jacare longer to sub him than I thought it would, as he had him on the ground a few times, but he got the job done eventually. Also showed a stronger chin than he was thought to have, as he got rocked but was able to come back and win the fight. SF's MW division used to look pretty solid, but I don't know who he fights next. I guess the winner of Kennedy/Rockhold, but Jacare just fought Kennedy not too long ago. Maybe they can convince Cung Le to take a fight, but I don't think that would even be competitive.

Diaz/Cyborg was pretty **** awesome. Round 1 was probably the round of the year so far. Doesn't touch Edgar/Maynard for FOTY IMO, but a good fight all the same. Surprised Cyborg was able to hurt Diaz as much as he did, but I didn't really feel Diaz was in any danger at any point. All it really showed me was how far away Diaz is from being top 5. Not in the actual rankings, as he's probably 7-10, but he's not touching GSP, Fitch, Shields, Koscheck, Alves, or Penn. Then there's Kampmann, Condit, Sanchez, and Hardy...I'll give him the ranking ahead of those guys, but I think those fights would all be tough to call. Can you imagine what those guys would do to Cyborg, btw? It would be embarrassing.

Diaz should fight Daley next, Woodley somewhere down the line, and maybe work a fight with Mayhem Miller in there somewhere.
