Is this not the very definition of double talk?

Curry is 11 mil, if Turiaf opts out thats another 4 mil and Randolph being traded for a future 1st gives us another 2 mil in space....ok thats 17 mil there.....plus we lose Buikes deal which is another 3.3 mil thats a little over 20 mil in cap space.
What makes that tricky is if Turiaf doesnt opt out. Then Melo's sincerity is put to the test, will he sign for 15-16 mil his 1st season with annual raises?
To me this is a much better option than trading Chandler plus Gallo or Fields. This team with two out of those 3 is way better than having Melo with only 1 out of those 3. And to those of you that say its better to do the trade so we have the MLE and LLE, we dont even know if those will even be available with the new CBA thats going to be negotiated. Plus Gallo or Fields are both better than anyone whod be willing to sign 4 the MLE anyway.

I did the math 100 times![]()
We would need to trade/renounce AR, Turiaf, Chandler and our 2011 first round for future considerations. As well as the obvious Curry, and Azub. That would give us enough to sign Melo free and clear...

I know in the back of my mind what the CBA is up for, what we’re up for dealing with the lockout, things like that. So as long as I know that, my decision will be my decision.”
Asked if he’d be willing to take the risk of passing on the extension and facing the unknown of post-lockout free agency, Anthony said, “Yeah, I mean whether it’s playing this year out and then going back to the drawing table, sitting down with Denver and trying to figure it out, or whether it’s to move on, I’m with that.”

Nothing has changed for Anthony, who all along has only considered signing a three-year, $65 million extension with the Knicks or Nuggets – though a person familiar with the strategy being employed by his agents at Creative Artists Agency recently told CBSSports.com that CAA has been consistent since the summer in advising the Nuggets that he won’t re-sign with them. As for Anthony himself, he refuted a previously published report that Knicks star Amar’e Stoudemire had recently texted him urging him to join forces in New York.
“I read that, that he supposedly texted me or something like that,” Anthony said. “I didn’t get it. I didn’t get that text.”

Melo: I'm not afraid to become a free agent
In other news; Melo started a car this morning. He also ate a cheeseburger for lunch. Around two pm he walked up a stair set. The craziest part was yet to come though. An associate of Melo's speaking on the condition of anonymity; stated "Melo loves to play basketball" And he is planning on playing in the NBA next year for sure and would like to win a championship.

So just to fill out the picture, our team would look like:
5. Mozgov
4. Amar'e
3. Carmelo
2. Fields
1. Felton
-
6. Gallo
7. Douglas
8. Williams
9. Rautins
10. Rookie
11. Minimim Contract
12. Minimum Contract
Depending on how creative Donnie gets, that still leaves us rail thin at PF/C.

contract wrote:Serious question from a Heat fan about this whole Melo drama ... wouldn't it be a ton cheaper in terms of players, picks & money to simply trade for Michael Beasley? Sure he's no Melo at this point, but he's only 22 years old, and he's been improving steadily from year to year.
I don't know ... it just seems that it would make more sense to get 80% to 90% of Melo's production at bargain rates and save your assets and money to target Chris Paul or Dwight Howard.

just means if he had a choice, he would take both.
