Alot of great defensive teams were all over him and constantly double-teaming him in the early first half of the season. So I hope he's really adjusting his game now against the next few match-ups.

Man, I sincerely hope this isn't true. He'd be risking a ton of money putting his hat in a much deeper 2012 draft, not to mention possible injury and having his stock plummet.
Hopefully a top 7 promise (starting salary @ $1.97 million) is enough to keep him in.

Barnes and Kyrie were really looking forward to playing against each other, with Duke facing UNC and everything.
The two are good friends.
Coach K on Kyrie Irving: "Sometime late this week the cast will come off. That triggers rehab program that takes a long time. Not a surprise. The plan all along. Getting better. Main concern is career. Not looking for him to get back. Looking to get well. Next week we'll do another catscan, MRI, make sure everything that needs to happen has. What therapy he needs. Hasn't been moving toe, ankle for 7 weeks. Lots that goes into that."

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

he definitely has a good head on his shoulders. I believe he said he was in engineering and wanted his degree in that? with that said, tons of players say similar things and its not all that meaningful. its a hard decision to make when the moneys on the table.
you're in a unique, but weird perspective. You have followed him closely, so you have a strong opinion. Despite that, you may not be as familiar with many of the other top prospects in recent years who have had similar situations.

Barnes is better than that.
it all depends on how high he is being mocked at to be honest.
Im trying to think of players who have stayed another year when they were consensus top 3.

The NCAA is not for everybody. Not all players want or need to go to college. But thanks to the idiotic age rule, many of these prospects who want to make the jump straight to the NBA and earn gainful employment are forced to enter a farce and become a 'student-athlete' for a year. If they are going to do that, they might as well showcase themselves in the best possible system for them. Like it or not, Calipari has proven himself to be capable of making these elite players look very good and win at the same time. That is all the player and their families want.
Say what you want about what's 'good for the sport of college bball', but I guarantee you that if the players that stay 2, 3, and 4 years had the talent of these super freshman, they would knock over their coach running to the draft. The ones that stay don't have the talent to immediately (or ever) declare and thus have no choice but to finish a degree as an insurance policy. At the same time the NCAA is earning billions in TV and merchandising revenue from these players and doesn't adequately compensate them. And no, I don't believe free tuition is enough compensation for most of the players.
The idea of amateur athletics is a fairy tale and everybody is looking out for themselves and their bottom line.

I can't remember where Blake Griffin was projected after his Freshman season. I don't think it was high in the lotto but he showed signs of potential with 14 and 9 in his first year. He put up 23 and 14 in year two which catapulted him into the top pick and it seems to have worked out for him.

He was projected top 5 at the end of the freshman season going into the draft but damn that year has stack load of talent like Rose/Mayo/Love/Beasley, it's understandable that he stays another year.

When Barnes committed to UNC he mentioned to several media outlets that he planned to stay in school up to 3 years to get his degree. At the time he was the projected #1 pick and I found it hard to believe but now that his stock slipping I find it more likely.
If you didn't see how Barnes announced that he'd be attending UNC check out this vid. Kinda dumb but if you listen to him speak you'll get a better understanding of the kind of kid that he is. Not one who would be one-and-done just for the $$.
