lol aight.
Discounting the fact that hes going to the richest owner in sports, HOME TO BROOKLYN, and going to a team which has the potential to sign Chris Paul or Deron Williams.
Melo knows that even if he goes to the Knicks they're not gonna win much more than Denver anyway. A team of Carmelo and Amare has nothing on Boston or Miami at all.
I know. But playing alongside the juggernaut Brooke Lopez catapults the Nets right? That jammed packed 122 section of 42 fans who ponied up a total of $36 each (includes food and limo service courtesy of Jordan Farmar), THEY are the luck ones.
Richest owners in sports

He can't be the smartest since he just blew that money on Outlaw, Petro and Farmar. Hometown is not Brooklyn and even if it were he'd be better off playing for the Knicks.
I don't blame Nets fans for not wanting to come out to the games. If your team has shown little signs of life and is only temporarily staying in New Jersey until their arena in New York is built, you probably wouldn't want to spend money of them, either. I have gone to several games this year and although they have been fun, I can't blame a casual fan for not wanting to spend money on a team that is only temporarily staying in the state.
Outlaw is a horrible contract signing. Petro is bad, but nowhere near as bad as Outlaw. Farmar is actually probably one of the better backup PGs in the game right now. Say what you want about them playing scrub time in LA, but both Sasha and Farmar have played very well together coming off the bench.
Besides Amare, I don't see what would make the Knicks so much better of a choice for Carmelo. Since the Knicks team would be gutted if they pulled the trigger on a trade with Denver, they would have just as few assets as New Jersey currently does. the Knicks are not that much better of an option.
But regardless, I don't think this deal goes now. I don't see New Jersey willing to give up four draft picks now when they weren't willing to a month ago. BEFORE Prokhorov said he was walking away.
