I asked Melo why not use extension to force trade, he said he didn't want to do it like that. Also said he didn't want to be a rental.
So he doesn't want to come to New York...

Sometimes I just don't understand you guys. Instead of envisioning how good we could be, how good we need to be if we could hold on the Gallo, you guys are treating him like he is irrelevant.
Common sense IMO says he is not only is Gallo relevant, but he may be the difference between us being an "Altanta hawks" or being something more, way more.
He may be the difference (if we can use him as trade bait for Paul, Deron, D.Howard) between being a "good team" and being a contender. I just don't get some of you guys here.... WHY THE F SHOULD WE EVER BID AGAINST OURSELVES?
Isn't that what we pay Walsh for? Or do we pay Walsh to just give away talent because the other team makes crazy demands from a position of weakness.

I guess that's a formal end to his "I'm not afraid to go to free agency" stance.
Damn he's caving big time isn't he.
he wants his money, cant blame him
he gave ny 7 months to get the deal done, ny couldnt....name me one other star who gave ny that long to get the deal done...lebron? no, wade? no, webber in the early 2000s? no....no other player has given this much time

Well if you're ever shooting in Chitown let me know. I'll AD the **** out of it.
Yeah? OK, Chicago's acting pool interests me more than NYC and LA actually. Its on my radar. Did you train as a cinematographer or has your focus been more on running sets?

No Gallo, No Fields. You guys that are so willing to give up Gallo, Chandler and maybe even Fields need to relax. In Donnie we trust.
Honestly - I feel like Fields is over-rated by this board. I would rather include him then Gallo for sure. Gallo is only getting better and I feel like trading him now is selling low. Definitely no Mozgov and no Gallo in my trade offer.

But he still has plenty of time to say this. I thin it's about 50/50 he does say this before it's all said and done. It's the last and most powerful card in his hand.
Perhaps, but he shouldn't be testing us like this to begin with. Not if he intends to come to the best team possible to compete for a ring.

gallo for paul/howard or deron? ROFL, so many teams could be that offer
why would paul come here if his boy melo isnt here?
deron is from the Tex area, and dallas has space in 2012..huge competition
bottome line is one cant talk about a 3rd star without getting the 2nd one first

First thing Jerry West said was Walsh is a very respected and smart GM. Then he went on to say that the Knicks are in the position of power in this negotiation and that they should give up minimal assets for Melo.
