Replace Asik with Taj and I'll do it.

You have lost it. MIller is THE Perfect Backup Center for Noah.

You keep Taj to cover up Boozer's ass on Defense.

Funny I was on Rumorpress.net and this forum 15 min ago -- and I miss this rumor in between.

Maybe if we threw Taj in insted of Asik. But too much money even in that case.

Too slow, too old.

I really think any deals should be analyzed by viewing Omer as something close to what he is. Not some mythical guy who is going to average a double-double and 3 blocks a game.

That's not to say he has no value now, because he's a solid bench big man. But thinking he's magically going to turn into a borderline all-star by making some huge jump from being a 24 year old to a 25 year
old seems a little crazy to me.

Would you like to have Marcin Gortat with better defense on your team? If he doesn't join us, we will have Dwight Howard to deal with in many years to come and I would like to have a guy who can slow him a bit with his lenght.

Seems like Gortat is way thicker. Is Omer really that much better equipped to slow him down than Noah?

Besides, I do like Omer and its not like I want to give him away or anything. I'm just confused by people projecting him as a double-double guy in the future. He's a good backup big man who will likely not play more than 15 minutes per game on any contender. I really don't foresee huge improvements coming for him like many seem to.

Miller has a 17.2 PER this season and is shooting 46% from the field and 37% from three. He's already as slow as he'll ever get. He's the same Brad.

He isn't worth the money he's being paid, and taking his contract while giving up Asik is too high a price for Lee. No way. No how.

Asik is going to get stronger. And yes, with his lenght he could easily become a better Howard defender than Noah. No one is projecting him as a double double guy, he has a chance to become on of the better back up C's in the league though.

I like Miller, but not for that contract. Just too much money. Does anyone know if his 3rd year is a player option? His shooting is great, but his lack of quickness is gonna get us in trouble.

His last year is in fact only 1 million guaranteed. You could view that year like Dampier's final year on that contract he had.

As for the proposed trade? I would want a little more value from Houston's end ( ie. the Miami pick) but I can accept that deal. Kind of.
But do you know what they call a fool, who's full of himself and jumps into the path of death because it's cool?

Asik is playing better D than Taj. Keep him, trade Taj.

Asik's D is worth more than Brad's O. Asik's got potential and Brad's nearly 35. Courtney Lee IS NOT WORTH THAT SWAP.

It would suck to lose Asik but we'd replace him with a better big for this year in Miller and still have picks and the MLE to add a big this summer. The problem of losing Asik was not having the depth in the postseason but Noah/Miller, Boozer/Gibson with Thomas as 5th big is good. Landing Lee to play SG even better.

I honestly dont understand Bull fans love affair with Omer Asik. He's a 3rd string center averaging 3pt/3rb. Last year Taj Gibson was untouchable, this year its Asik. Is it because he's a rookie... its kind of like that new toy you cant get enough of.

Personally if i'm Morey i'll rather have the Charlotte pick than Asik.

Brad Miller can not guard anyone in this league.

Asik doesn't show his worth through stats. He's already an amazing defender for a guy in his 1st year in the NBA and he's only 24 years old. Only thing I worry about him is I think he had some injury problems in Turkey. Other than that he's going to be a good player in this league. He won't put up the stats but he finds a way to impact the game in a positive way.

I'm against this trade for Lee b/c IMO we're doing it on the Rockets terms. We are overpaying.

Just not sure about Miller long-term. Don't see it. Don't want it.

If we are giving up Asik - it better be Jordan Hill coming back, not Miller.

Gortat is almost averaging a double double in 25 min a night. Did you see his stats his first couple seasons in Orlando? I don't know how Omer will turn out but I certainly see enough to think he could be a good one. I think the 24 year-old argument is moot, because anyone at any age can learn skills. We are not talking about him needing to physically mature because he already has a solid frame. What he needs is essentially NBA experience and big man tutoring.

This is the problem with dealing with a guy like Morey. He isn't going to allow you to get the better of a trade. If we were dealing with Minnesota, this deal would have been done already and we'd get Lee for a steal. Morey won't let this happen.

Fine. Then don't trade with him. We should be focusing our energy on Mayo anyway.
