Replace Asik with Taj and I'll do it.
You have lost it. MIller is THE Perfect Backup Center for Noah.
You keep Taj to cover up Boozer's ass on Defense.

But some of you guys act like he's 19 and has huge potential. The guy turns 25 in a couple months. He's a year younger than Loul Deng. Most likely, he is what he is. Why are some projecting massive improvement?
I really think any deals should be analyzed by viewing Omer as something close to what he is. Not some mythical guy who is going to average a double-double and 3 blocks a game.
That's not to say he has no value now, because he's a solid bench big man. But thinking he's magically going to turn into a borderline all-star by making some huge jump from being a 24 year old to a 25 year
old seems a little crazy to me.
Would you like to have Marcin Gortat with better defense on your team? If he doesn't join us, we will have Dwight Howard to deal with in many years to come and I would like to have a guy who can slow him a bit with his lenght.

Miller has a 17.2 PER this season and is shooting 46% from the field and 37% from three. He's already as slow as he'll ever get. He's the same Brad.

Seems like Gortat is way thicker. Is Omer really that much better equipped to slow him down than Noah?
Besides, I do like Omer and its not like I want to give him away or anything. I'm just confused by people projecting him as a double-double guy in the future. He's a good backup big man who will likely not play more than 15 minutes per game on any contender. I really don't foresee huge improvements coming for him like many seem to.
I like Miller, but not for that contract. Just too much money. Does anyone know if his 3rd year is a player option? His shooting is great, but his lack of quickness is gonna get us in trouble.

Ralphb07 wrote:It would suck to lose Asik but we'd replace him with a better big for this year in Miller and still have picks and the MLE to add a big this summer. The problem of losing Asik was not having the depth in the postseason but Noah/Miller, Boozer/Gibson with Thomas as 5th big is good. Landing Lee to play SG even better.

This is the problem with dealing with a guy like Morey. He isn't going to allow you to get the better of a trade. If we were dealing with Minnesota, this deal would have been done already and we'd get Lee for a steal. Morey won't let this happen.
