Have you really seen T Jones play? I admit that I've only seen a couple of games from both of them but to me me T Jones has looked like a NBA player among college players. He does everything except shooting better than Barnes. And I think his athleticism is better too. He's an all-around guy with good handles and post game plus he's a great rebounder and plays defense. I really don't understand how you can say that his ceiling is low. I think that his ceiling is extremely high but whether he reaches it or not is a different question. I have no idea about T Jones' work ethic or off court personality so I'll give HB advantage there. I understand that people want long range shooting ability from our SF because DeRozan doesn't have it yet but at the moment we really need the BPA. I wouldn't take HB over T Jones from what I've seen but hopefully both play good tournaments and give us more options on draft night.
I fully agree with this. TJones has great shotblocking skills too. He's really improved going to his right hand over the course of the season as well. It's not that I don't see Barnes' potential. It's just that I want to see him take guys off the dribble and take it all the way to the rim. Most of his scoring comes from step back moves or stand still jumpshots. I think TJones can positively impact a game without scoring a point, but I don't think Barnes has quite the same ability.
To summarize:
- better ballhandler
- better passer
- better shotblocker
- better rebounder
- more explosive athletically
- more aggressive
- appears to have better size/length
I give Barnes the edge in regard to form on his jumpshot and perhaps lateral quicks on defense.
