So I'll take the 2 guys that are better.
except Amar'e isnt > Gasol
lol yes he is
on what planet is 25 ppg on 66%!!!!! TS with 9 rpg and 2 bpg is not better than 18 on 60% and 11 rpg with 2 bpg?
on what planet does Gasol put up 42, 41, 37, 34 and 31 against prime Tim Duncan in playoffs?
on what planet does Gasol average 30, 11 with 2 bpg and 62% TS in playoffs?
yeah. amare is clearly better. Gasol is not a much better defender than prime Amare to make up for huge offensive loss.
Put Gasol with a prime Nash and his TS would go up 4-5% pretty much negating any advantage Amare has had in efficiency. Gasol's actually been the more efficient player this year.
Gasol's rebounding and defense advantage more than makes up for Amare's advantage in scoring imo. Gasol isn't an elite defender but he more than holds his own which historically you can definitely NOT say about Amare.
Given that defense and rebounding in the frontcourt are crucial to winning championships I'd go Dr. J/Gasol in this scenario.
