Will that pick we gave turn into a nice player? Maybe, but the draft class is pretty weak this year so I don't think so.
Either way, the cap flexibilty we'll have thanks to the midseason deals will be especially interesting moving forward with the new CBA and all. Having toxic contracts like Hedo's (on top of being a toxic basketball player) around in a reduced salary cap woulda been a disaster.
I just feel like Dragic was dynamic enough not to give up on him. Especially because Brooks is an RFA. If we re-sign him, it might be to a bad offer, and Nash will probably be gone. I don't want Brooks as the starting PG of this team. If we don't match, then that means we gave up Dragic and the pick for nothing. It was only gonna be good in the short-term to help us with offensive punch for the playoffs. As that fades, any positives of the deal fade away.
