So true.... Rondo is a stat whore.

Wow guys look closely he took his eyes off the ball, to look behind him. He sees athletic Tony Allen behind him and loses the ball. Should he try to gather himself thus slowing down and going up risking a block or a high speed collision?

He lost the ball...

He'd probably miss the layup like he did in the all star game.

If he is this passive now, what makes him aggressive when the big 3 are gone?

In Mike Miller's defense he's shooting so bad he can't afford to miss anymore on half court heaves.

He would have most likely gotten blocked or fouled (or maybe just a flat out pressured miss) unless he were to dunk it because he was looking back and losing momentum. Not to mention he's been hurt. If say, Ray Allen didn't fall and was running right there behind him, Rondo would have passed it out for a probable assist and this would all go away.

Still can't defend it because in that situation you at least have to give it a shot and focus on driving to the basket rather than passing it. The reason he was looking back for a pass, though, is obviously because he's a very passive player. There's nothing wrong with that, he was just overly passive on this play.

It's bad but this thread is filled with over exaggeration, saying he's a "stat padder" and "scared". Really he's just not an aggressive player and made a mistake in thinking a teammate was behind him and thinking more about passing than shooting. As a bad shooter, his mindset is pass before shoot.. that's just the kind of player he is so the main thing is he needs to learn to get more aggressive at times like that at least. Not too hard to fix and I don't see how he's worried about stats or "scared"...

Maybe it's because nearly every Heat game is televised nationally but I've seen all of the guys on that team do that more than any other team.

I have seen Wade, LBJ, and MM do this all season long. One instance at MSG, LBJ grabbed a defensive board with like over 4 seconds left and just stood in the lane near his own basketball and waited for time to expire instead of dribbling up the court and taking a shot or even passing to a teammate.

It's funny because I remember reading that he was the fastest player in the NBA and the best PG. PG can score to and all this shows is that he likes to pad his assists stats. Any other player would of dunked it like Westbrook or Rose. Rondo on a another team that didn't include 3 Hofs would be a below average PG.

People are aggressive cause they can finally prove that Rondo is nothing but a stat whore and is overrated. If he was " to injured" to even make a lay-up he shouldn't of played.

This has been mentioned about three times in this thread, but people glance right over it.

HE DID NOT HAVE A GOOD FIRST DRIBBLE. HE DRIBBLED IT ON HIS LEFT TOO FAR TO THE LEFT.

However, he is defiantly too passive and does do stuff like this even through my biased Celtic eyes.

Why does anyone bother going to the rim at all. Everyone should just shoot 3's from halfcourt since there are no defenders to contest there.
