Chandler likes Denver

Post#1 » by el loco » Sun Mar 20, 2011 11:56 am

The team's success has made the transition more enjoyable for Chandler, but he's also been very happy with the situation as a whole.

"It's a great city and the scenery is beautiful," he said. "As far as the team, everybody is great – the coaches, organization and team. Everything is well managed. I love being here."

The Nuggets currently hold the fifth seed in the West, but their position in the standings can still fluctuate. Chandler believes that the Nuggets are in the same spot that the Knicks were prior to the trade and while his jersey changed, his goals didn't.

He still watches Knicks games and hopes that the Knicks do well.

"We were kind of in the same situation in New York," Chandler said. "We were right around the five or six seed and fighting to get in. We're just trying to focus on what we do best, take that to the playoffs and hopefully we can make a run."

He admits that he still watches New York's games on television and made it clear that he wants nothing but success for his former teammates.

"Yeah, I do [watch their games]," Chandler said. "I still have a few friends that play for them so it's not like a bad thing. It's not like I watch their games and hope they lose. I hope they do good because I still have friends on the team."

It is good to hear that Chandler likes it here, of course in a few weeks we will find out how much he likes it here.

Chandler is a good kid. I really miss having him on the Knicks, I am glad that he is adjusting over there, as I know that initially he didn't want to go there.

Hey guys I'm a Nets fan and root for you guys when I can. Glad to see you doing well after the trade and even happier the Knicks suck. Anyway I've always been a fan of Chandler and was hoping we could land him somehow. Seeing we have a glaring hole at SF (thank you Outlaw) I was wondering what you guys thought it would take to pry Chandler away.

I would offer him something like 5yr/40mil. Do you think DEN would match that. I think Nene will opt out and resign with you (even though I'd love to have him too) for something in the 14 mil range. Plus I think you're high on Gallo and he's going to need a solid pay day next year so I was hoping maybe management would shy away from matching that with Gallo and Al who can both hold down the SF spot. That's a ton of mony to have invested at one position.

I like Affallo for that matter too but not enough where you wouldn't match my offfer so I would think he's staying too.

Really rooting for you guys. I love watching teams the play hard unselfish ball and have great balance. That's what you have here and it shows. Good luck in the playoffs would love nothing more then to see you make some noise.

5/40 i would match for chandler. 8 mill is a decent value for a good player.

Yeah I think it's fair value as well but I was hoping that you would shy away from matching that with AL already on the books and Gallo coming up next season. I think Gallo is going to get right around the same number 5/40 and didn't think you guys would want to have over 20 mil tied up in 3 SF's with so many other parts like Nene, Afflalo, and JR needing to be resigned.

Would we have to go something like 5/45 or 5/50 to pry him away?

What Chandler needs is a new doctor. This is like his third season dealing with the same ankle and all he had going wrong with it initially is bone spurs. I'm not a doctor but that seems kind of a trivial issue to be having this much trouble with it.

The one thing you guys haven't seen yet is that Chandler has insane hops.

I wish there was some way the Knicks could get this guy back. He just plays period. Wining, losing, he comes out and does what he does and he is always working on getting better and stronger. You guys are truely lucky to have him. I really hope you guys let him go and in some how some way the knicks can get him back.

Do you Denver fans really see Chandler as apart of your future?

This might help to answer your question, it is a question and answer article from the Nuggets beat writer.

The Nuggets are loaded in talent now after the Melo trade to The Knicks. Looking ahead, who do you think will be traded or not re-signed next season? Could The Nuggets try to acquire more draft picks in trades?

As for the Denver Knuggets, of course there are many questions to be answered this summer. Right now, the front office is excitedly watching how the new group works together. Nene, as written, is a priority, and it's my understanding that he will likely get a three-year contract (though there are many steps to this re-signing process). Arron Afflalo and Wilson Chandler are huge priorities this offseason. Both dudes are restricted free agents.

Damn damn damn you guys. Well good to hear he is appreciated. I love his game and I think he'll improve. Some people in Ny seemed to forget that he is still young and has room to grow. I hope you guys are bluffing, but i doubt the Knicks would be able to make a play at him anyways.

I wonder how much WC will get. And will they be able to keep Afflalo/JR/WC/Gallo minutes-wise?

Unless they get a crazy trade offer, I see Jr being the odd man out. Personally I would not mind keep any 3 of the 4, and allowing those 3 to play right around 32 mpg each.
