I know, moral victory and all that stuff, but I am beginning to notice improved play from Hinrich and Teague so far as running the team. It's going to turn out that we traded for Hinrich too late for this year. Hinrich's starting to LEAD the offense rather than just trying to fit in and ... TEAGUE, Teague's vision seems to be improving. When he comes in, he greatly speeds up play, especially on offense but even on defense.
Maybe we'll finally start running (with all those athletes).

That's too easy. As per my OP, do you see Hinrich becoming more of a leader? Do you see improvement in Teague?
If you don't, fine. But if you see what I see, won't we be better when we have 2 strong defensively, athletic, good PGs? Call me crazy, but I see a really good PG inside Teague: super fast, super quick, looong arms, good hands, good leaping ability, good one-on-one offensive skills and truly superior defensive gifts.

If we do, and it's for a true PG, I'd be okay. But I'm really starting to hope we let him develop. The kid is Mookie Blaylock with less strength but a better fastbreak. Teague's a one-man fastbreak.

Key is using change of pace to get gobs of fouls. In the halfcourt though I thought he would be unstoppable off pick and rolls by now. Potential is still there tho...

Anyone notice how similar Hinrich and Teague are? If we wanted to, we could run 48 minutes of one, consistent style of play.
Both are gifted defensively.
Both are not true PGs.
Both can get to the basket, almost at will.
Both can get their shot off when they're close to the hoop.
Both are pretty good from 3.
Both can run.

Teague is pretty awful from 3, and is also very hesitant to shoot. Tons of times he'll catch it at the top of the arc wide open, and instead of taking it, he'll dribble, wait for his man to close in and get a solid defensive stance, and then drive.
He also doesn't know when to float and when to take it all the way in.

cept hinrich is twice the shooter teague is, thus making him an effective basketball player whereas the jury is still out with teague

Not sure Hinrich's "twice the shooter Teague is" although I wish it were true. Teague's vision is lacking, so far as being a PG goes, but his offensive game is better than Hinrich's, at least that's what I see.

I do hpe indeed that Kirk injury will give a lot more PT to JT2 as a starter and will build his confidence.
He needs to asser himself and show some mean aggressivness rather than his passive-beat up demeanor.
In that sense for sure he differs a lot from Mookie.
That being said, and granted that it was in regular season and usually meaningless games,
he had some good outings when starting and playing 30 minutes +.
Good luck to him for the first 2 games. On a personal level, an incredible chance for him to show the world what he can do.
On a team level, an opportunity to extend the rotation, JT2, Marv and Damian should be the players benefiting the most from it...
After all, let's remember that Rose is not full speed (well...) but that at least Boozer should be handicaped somehow... Take adavantage of it and shock the world!

Damian Wilkins is terrible, he can defend but he provides no perimeter shooting or slashing. Keep rotation Marvin, Joe, and Josh on the wings and sometimes Jamal if Teague can run the pnR. Keep Noah off the boards. Give our bigs a chance to get us extra possessions for Jamal and Joe.
