He's not a rare player, then.

lol that sounds like the guy here that put up "rare" numbers.

Have to disagree on this one sixerscan...you aren't simply removing Iguodala without adding other pieces. You could sell me on trading ET for building blocks as well, but I think you need to turn the team over to Jreu (really it is already his) and ET. The current core with Iguodala isnMt getting over the hump. Adding a big and a sf for Iguodala gets you closer in the long run, and if you keep Brand (which I would) keeps them in the playoff hunt. I like Iguodala a lot, but keeping him isn't the best move at this point. I don't deal him for expiring deals, but do think he has some value.

I just don't see a scenario where we'd get fair value for him. If someone comes up to us and offers us a money deal that's one thing, but I don't we should be pursuing trading him.

A better plan is to try to reup Young, then trade Speights or Williams or our pick this year for a half decent center. That with Turner and Holiday's development should get us a lot better.

No chance. We have no need for another combo guard, and the other 2 aren't long term starters.

So Bass would learn from Brand....Great? That doesn't mean anything. Jameer doesn't play the 2, and he certainly won't play the 1 with Jrue here. We have enough combo guards.

Nothing on the Magic is worth Iguodala outside of Dwight which isn't a possibility. Sorry.

Look at the situation this franchise is in with the cap. You're not getting too much of a fair deal with anybody making big money on this roster. Gotta take the lumps and suffer some for the greater good. I know that is a weird, kooky concept around this board. Because many are cool with winning 43 games and getting smacked in the first round year after year after year.

You can take him off the books by giving us Hedo? Hedo's deal is LONGER than Brand's. We wouldn't deal Brand for Hedo (and salary filler) with nothing else added to the deal. Why the heck would we add Iguodala to it? That's terrible, just terrible.

Again, we appreciate your interest in our player, but please stop. The Magic don't have rebuilding pieces, they don't have guys that fit with our core, and they don't even have any expiring contracts.

Let me get this out of the way. I believe that it's for the best that Iggy does move on...however I believe that we should look for the best possible deal in doing so.

IIRC you stated in another thread that we are in the same spot we were for the Mo Cheeks teams. I don't believe this to be the case. That team was led by Andre Miller and Young Iggy. The only other Youth was Thad Young ( and Carney lol) Those two really wasn't part of the core behind that "run". This time the run was propelled by Jrue, Lou, and Thad. So the core this time is actually young and not led by Miller. So taking a step back by trading Iggy would stunt their growth more than it helps IMO. I'd try to trade Iggy to ADD to that core right away not just dump his salary. That would be counterproductive due to Brand's hefty contract being on the team still.

The way I see it, we cannot tank because we don't want to ruin the young core we have right now by stunted their growth. Getting cap space is cool but let's be honest....does any superstar want to really come here? So it's in our best interest to try to build from within. Let's see what Turner can do wit ha year under his belt..Let's see if Jrue can take that next major step...Let's see if Thad can add more to his game.

This may not work but it's more than worth a shot to see..because it's not exactly the same as it has been.

Iggys value is highest here in Philly. WE think all our players are worth mroe then what they are. Iggy is only worth a young player and cap space. His bloated contract kills his value and the most important thing is to unload that contract moving forward. Brand comes off the cap in 2 yeas. ANd Iggys horrible contract needs to go.

I see no core, so I strongly disagree.

^ wow...really?

That's a very bleak look at things. That's you're own opinion and I'll respect that but wow...

So basically you'd get rid of everyone on this team and just tank for a while?

But yet you want Al Jefferson as our C and Baron Davis on our team? Right?

So what's worst: 43 wins and a 1st round bump, or 50 wins and maybe a 2nd Round bump?

I've been a die hard Sixers fan all my life. The franchise was only elite twice in my lifetime. Early '80s (I was 3 when the Sixers won the title in the 1982-83 season, so I don't remember anything) and in 2001.

All the other times were bleak. From being a nice team being swept by the Knicks and then back-to-back 2nd round losses to the Bulls to the Shawn Bradley/Clarence Weatherspoon/Sharone Wright era with ugly ass uniforms to boot. And now the Team Mediocre era since '01.

I have a thick skin to being a bad team. I'm used to it. If I know the franchise has a plan and they know they need a superstar and can hopefully create some luck to get one, I'm cool with that.

Wrong post. Looking back now, that is Point-God. Always get you two mixed up.
