She had fears (based on trailers) that the movie would flop and didn't want to take that chance and be disappointed. At the time I didn't care because I had to get up early for work the next day.
At this point however I kinda want to give it a shot. My boy ( who is an action flick junky) saw it and loved it. Honestly he 's not to big on plots but still I'm thinking it might be worth a shot.
Has anybody here seen it, and if so what are your thoughts?
i liked it. it was good, not great, which is just about what I expected. and if you are a thor fan i think you will especially like it. sif and the warriors three barely got any screen time though, they were really thrown in there for the fans. volstagg in particular, the way they portrayed him was very true to the comic, even though to me it was a little strange having ray stevenson play him. Hawkeye is in it, although only briefly in order to introduce him before his bigger role in the Avengers. the special effects are goddamn boss. very, very boss. the writing can be a bit weak some times but it's a super hero movie, it is what it is. the humor was, thankfully, not too campy, which I thought it was going to be going into it. i know you and your wife probably are concerned about this too, because there was basically no humor in the comic... not that i remember anyway. there is a funny easter egg style nod to donald blake. also, be sure to stay for the post-credits scene, it's a lead-in to the Avengers.
