I'm reading every response and I fail to see how Tex is singled out.
Pretty much the WHOLE line up has been lousy for the better part of 3 weeks going back to the series against Detroit. Most of the responses are panic over a team struggling. We're not used to the Yanks struggling...sorry but it's true.
Tonight, was a perfect example of Yanks living off of home runs, which puts a lot more pressure on guys like Granderson, Cano, A-Rod, and Teixiera to get the big hits. When those guys don't hit, it's easy to see what happens. Posada even got a couple hits in as well.
Yanks don't need a total makeover. They need 1-2 modest bats to fill out the bottom and give rest to the guys at the top.
BTW would love to roll back the clock last year to re-read the criticisms on Granderson. Baseball is a unique sport. Requires patience.
