I actually didn't say he had a 3 point shot, you were originally responding to eyeteeth, not me.

You questioned Kanter's range, which is one aspect of the jump shot. You can dance around the semantics all you want, I just think that, given what people have been able to see of Kanter, the jumper is an odd skill to hold to the fire.

Kanter did interviews with Wolves, Cavs and Wizards. Skipped Jazz interview however. Interesting.

Turkey's Enes Kanter measured out well. 6' 9.75" in socks and 6' 11.25" in shoes with a good 7' 1.5" wing and a 9' 1.5" standing reach

Enes Kanter impressed GMs here. Looked more athletic than they thought.

I've seen that he has no interest in playing for the Jazz. My guess is, coming from Turkey he probably knows enough about strongly religious communities to know he doesn't want to play in Utah. Can't say I blame him.

^ Mehmet Okur is Turkish. I think it probably has more to do with the 4 power forwards and Okur at C.

I wonder if they'd draft him anyway as BPA.

Cavs fan here, I see some interest in Varejo here, would anyone be interested in Andy and #4 for Wes Johnson + filler and #2? Randolph or Tolliver would work salary wise, I would prefer Randolph, but I dont know how you guys feel about him.
I think we take Irving at #1, and if a trade could be worked out we would take Williams at #2. Btw, I personally would be happy with either Williams or Kanter at #4 if either falls and no other trades are made.

#2/Wes/Tolliver for #4/AV is not good for us. Wes/Tolliver should be enough to get Varejao.

No. Not even close. Andy and 4 for Darko and 2 is decently close. Johnson and Randolph or Tolliver, on the other hand, is worth quite a bit more than Varejao (think Iguodala), so your deal is basically giving up value on our end just to move back two spaces in the draft. Not going to happen.

Dude, that's bullsh**. Come on.

Ever think it is because they have Jefferson, Milsap, Okur and Favors?

I think I read that he's going to be working out with the Jazz all day tomorrow. Probably skipped out on the interview today because he knew that.

I'm starting to think Williams has too much talent to pass up at 2.

i don't really want kanter as i don't think he's going to be a good defender, shot blocker/rim protecter and there are just too many questions with him...i think he might be a scola or al jeff type maybe...on the other hand i think jonas will be a noah type with better offense, he will be the kind of guy who protects the rims, defends like a demon, rebounds like crazy, plays hard every minute and will be a lethal pick and roll finisher with rubio as well as adding a post game...i'd doubt very much that he is lying or confused about being close to 6'11 without shoes with a 7'6 wingspan...i am so incredibly sad that we will not take him as kahn will not be able to handle the backlash of drafting another player that might not come over for a year..who ever drafts him is getting a steal.

The #2?! Are you out of your mind?

You can't think of it as the 'number 2'. This is a weak draft. The trade would be Derrick Williams for Rudy Fernandez.

Derrick Williams is listed at Draftexpress as a BEST case scenario--Michael Beasley.

Would rather have a poor man's Beasley (Derek WIlliams) or

this..

Kantar may have as much in common with Lebron James as he does with Bogut. His height is only a couple inches different from that guy as well.

Jazz also have a full day workout and interview scheduled with Kanter on June 2 in Chicago.

This is basically a two man draft (although I personally like the long term potential of Knight). Assuming Williams is the one who falls to #2, then Kahn has to take him regardless of other players on the roster in the same way OKC selected Green after they had already picked Durant because they felt Green was the BPA. If Kahn trades the pick he better get a boatload in return or is going to look really bad.

If he takes scraps from Utah and drafts someone like Kanter who hasn't played in a competitive league in 2 years then he probably deserves to be fired.

I don't want Bogut for his shot creating potential.

I think it's kind of amusing that DX has Williams' best case = Beasley and Kanter's best case = Love.

I like Valanciunas more, the more video of him that I see. Long, athletic, finishes strong above the rim. Still needs to get stronger, but the potential and the understanding of the game are there. I see Biedrins with a better shot and without the mental issues. Plus I think he is a perfect fit with a PG like Rubio in an uptempo offense.
I'm putting him a solid #3 on my board (and the first player I'd take and keep instead of looking for value in a trade). The gap between Jonas in Kanter in length, athleticism, and competition faced the past 2 years is huge. Whomever said Scola with Kanter is right, that is his upside, as a high-post PF, he is not a C, and he's an awful fit with Love and Rubio.

How about this:
MN Trades:
W. Johnson, Pekovic, Flynn, #2 (D. Williams)
MN Receives:
Iguodala, #4 (Valanciunas), 2013+2015 MIA 1sts.

PHI Trades:
Iguodala, Nocioni
PHI Receives:
W. Johnson, J. Flynn

CLE Trades:
#4 (Valanciunas), 2013+2015 MIA picks.
CLE Receives:
#2 (D. Williams), Pekovic, Nocioni

Cleveland uses its big TPE to facilitate an Iggy to Minny trade, giving Philly 13 mil in 2011 cap savings to go with Wes and Flynn. They might even prefer Pek as they are in need of a C who can bang.
They get the best piece in the trade, so naturally they give up the most. But Gilbert has shown with the Baron trade that he is willing to take on salary to acquire young talent, and Irving/Williams is a nice start. There isn't any talent/picks on CLE's roster that would sway me to drop from 2 to 4, but using their TPE to acquire a guy like Iggy would.

For Philly, they get Wes, open up minutes for Turner, Meeks, and Young, and open up Cap Room to make a run at a FA Center whenever the lockout lifts.

For Minny, we get Iggy for Wes and a trade down from 2 to 4, and can stash Valanciunas overseas for a year if we want, and dump our salary obligations to Flynn and Pek.

Rubio/Ridnour
Iguodala/Ellington
Beasley/Webster
Love/Tolliver
Darko/Randolph/(Valanciunas).

I'm going to try that one on the trade board.
