Naw dude, Bynum and filler could easily net us CP3. I've covered this in detail before for the huge CP3 fan who posted and he understood my post perfectly.
Our competition for CP3 is Orlando, New York and the Clips ... New York has nothing to offer and will hope CP# is a FA so they can sign him outright ... Orlando's best offer would be a garbage package featuring Jameer Nelson ... I don't care if Bynum has only plaed 25 games a year, the Hornets would rather have Bynum then Nelson any day. That leaves the Clips are our only legit competition ... they could offer Mo Williams, Eric Gordon, Kamaan, cash and future picks for CP3 and Okafor which is a solid offer but one without any real star power ... Kamaan is average, Mo Williams is an average player with a bad contract and Eric Gordon has top 5 SG potential ... nice, but nothing like the top-2 center potential Bynum offers.

I certainly didn't think that Horford/Teague would be the best offer that NO would receive but I think it would be a competitive offer if they decided to go with youth.
As much as I see the value in having the huge center (Bynum), if I were a GM, I just couldn't give away a significant piece with health being such a question mark.
Doormatt wrote:What?? That's not the only reason Bynum has trade value. He's a great center right now when healthy, capable of averaging around 15/9 with elite defense. The reason his trade value is high imo, is because there's a dearth of talent at center in the league.

But since he is the highest paid player in the NBA and eating a great chunk of the roster salary, what would be a good trade for Kobe if this were to hypothetically happen? (I know he has a no trade clause so no need to tell me).
I have a feeling the Lakers are entering a "slow death" mode as the Heat (despite their game 2 collapse) are entering dynasty mode. Kobe with his humongous salary might in fact hurt the Lakers. I know Kobe homers don't want to hear it, but Kobe is entering exponentially declining age and there is nothing they can do about it.

You know I use to argue these types of threads vigorously, but now the more controlled DEEP will let you down easy........
You have no clue how the Lakers work son, everything you stated is hurting or will hurt every contending team in this league from just breezing away with titles. The Heat AREN'T entering dynasty mode. Their window is about as big as the Lakers was 4 years ago.
Get outta here with this pipe dream wishing and hoping.
