Short answer is that he actually doesn't put up juicy stats. He takes a ton of shots, sometimes they go in, and his other contributions are only meh (and that's for an SF... for a PF they're bad).
I do think if he didn't carry such a crazy-ass load he would probably be a lot more efficient.
The man has a 26% usage rate, which is ahead of DIRK. I don't think that's entirely the role of selfishness, that Minnesota team is horrible. Add to that his youth and obvious athletic gifts and I think he at least has some potential to shape up, as opposed to Jackson, who is obviously only going to get worse and will not be here by the time we're actually good again. Pretty much that makes me view Jackson as free money to deal for prospects, he really doesn't need to be wasting his time here anymore.
no no no no no no no you didn't just throw out some fancy stat nobody cares about and use that as justification he actually is better at something than Dirk. NO WAY. The difference is, Dirk does it night in and night out against other teams that are playing their A game and are going all out trying to stop him. No team gets up to play the Minnesota T-Wolves which is something you never even consider. That is why fancy stats from players on teams that win like 2 games all year are MEANINGLESS.
Its a whole other intensity level when Dallas comes to town as opposed to when Minnesota rides in on their broken down scooter. And then you have Minnesota getting their doors blown off in the first half, do you believe the opposing team is going all out to stop Beasley in the second half??? Hell no, a game against the lazy ass no defense playing T-Wolves is basically a day off for good NBA teams.
As for S-Jax, I want him gone. Not because I don't think he's a good player, I do and I think he's one of the best motivators and leaders in the game, but he talked junk about LB and thats a no no. He didn't come to play at the start of the season and was very selfish on the court. He needs to look in the mirror. But whatever, as long as he is here we will be stuck in mediocrity because we won't get a high enough pick. But for BEasley??? Hells no, you can't win on a consistent basis with those types of players and he's basically a waste of time. I'd rather draft a SF and have MJ and Silas coach them from day 1. Beasley is uncoachable and THAT is why Minny wants to dump him, just like Riley wanted to dump him 2 minutes into his first year in the league.
ha ha Lebron.
