You get the opportunity to show a group of guys a set of your own plays and run them through those plays. You can see how well each player executes those plays and the decision making of that individual in what option they went to whether that be an ill-advised shot, bad pass, or the perfect pass. In a huge workout like today, you also get to see which players rise to the occasion, pressure, and the competition and play well. That's exactly what Jimmer did today and exactly what Knight could have done and could have solidified himself as the third overall pick.
I completely agree. Which is why if the Jazz draft a PG at 3, I think that should be Jimmer and not Knight. I question Knights BB IQ anyway, to me he is not a passer. Does he create for himself and defend well, yes. He reminds me a lot of Jason Terry, which I mean is not a bad thing and he can not shoot like Terry right now.
I personally am thinking the Jazz go center and see what is there at 12 (hopefully an OK wing), as they already have a good PG. But we will see. If I had control of the 3rd pick, I would take Jonas Valanciunas (With Irving and Williams going 1 and 2). Not sure how often a guy his size and his skills comes around. Jazz do not really need a center but they need a center more than a PG. AJ is playing out of position at center and who knows if Memo will play again. I think Favors is more of a PF than center. With Harris you have a proven PG that is just hitting his prime. What the Jazz really need is another wing to replace AK. But none of the wings are that good this year. So we have a few good PGs and a few good bigs and a bunch of 2nd rounders in most drafts.
And yes, Williams is a big no matter what crap he tries to throw out there that he is a SF. He has a PF body and a PF game. I do not know why he is trying to sell himself as a SF. I would guess so he looks more attractive to Minn so he can be the 2nd pick. Not sure that should matter. He is the second best player in the draft and you should draft the best player, not by need. When you draft by need, it usually works out bad.
And I think Jonas Valanciunas is the 3rd best player in this draft. But if the Jazz go PG at 3, I hope it is Jimmer, I truly think he is the second best PG after Irving. But those are just my musings.
The "Spanish Fly" came and went.
