Any special reason why?

I'd wager we could find nearly any NBA starter making a shot near the end of a game. But thanks for completely ignoring the part where I thrashed your point.

I like DJ but he doesn't have "it", Kemba does on any level he is on.

Like this one where DJ Augustin won an NBA game for us.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyLuIaIHXcQ

Or this very well placed pass (despite his poor footing) at the end of the 2nd quarter.

This reminds me of a post in which some guy states Rose doesn't have "it" but Jennings does. You can keep "it". I don't think "it" has anything to do with basketball and everything to do with your perceptions.

Not to mention that too many people think "clutch" only exists in the last 2 seconds of a game. I think clutch time runs for a lot longer than that. For instance, all of overtime should be considered clutch time, I think we'd all agree.

EDIT: This isn't meant to be harsh, my comments on "it". I just don't think "it" actually exists, I've never seen anyone able to definitely show "it".

silas will play the two of them together at times next year. there is no doubt in my mind about that. the question is more likely, how long will they play together and at what points during the game. i am sure there might even be times that we see both of them on the floor in the last 6 minutes of the 4th quarter in a close game, depending on matchups. a lot of teams go small at the end of games.

if dj can give us 30 minutes a night and kemba can give us 25 minutes a night, obviously that leaves 7 minutes where they play together. i think that would be a decent distribution of minutes.

i do not think kemba will beat out dj for the starting job next year. i think the only way kemba starts is if dj gets traded.

if we have to choose between one or the other in crunch time it will most likely be the "hot hand". silas is not like LB. he is not opposed to playing his bench at the end of games over his starters. kemba is most likely going to be a better defender and a better iso scorer so those skills will translate better to end of game situations. but certainly dj's experience and better 3pt shooting and better ft shooting will earn him minutes late as well.

its a good problem for a coach to have, as long as both players push each other in a positive manner and not in a manner where one starts sulking or glory hunting.

i trust silas will be able to keep both players mentally in the right frame of mind. thats what he does well.

In addition, I think we're forgetting that DJ was a 9th pick as well. I think skill wise they're on the same level (with DJ having the significant edge due to experience), just in different areas.

Raymond Felton thought he had "it" too - and that ended up hurting us way more often than it helped us.

I started looking for Kemba highlights on Youtube and I found something interesting. Here is the first one I cam across that appears to be uploaded by UConn fan. The thing that I found interesting is that it's 5 mins long and during that 5 min highlight package, guess how many assists there were?

Conversely, here are DJ's highlights:

Yeah, our bench needs Kemba anyway. That's a point I hadn't considered. DJ can shoot off the dribble but he's better when he can catch and shoot.

DJ starts this yr. No question. Kemba will get quality mins though.

Next yr is the bigger question.

Not saying DJ can't make pressure shots, but I mean are you really going to compare buzzer beaters vs the Nets and T-Wolves in completely meaningless games to the shot Kemba hit vs Pitt in the big east tourney? Really? Same type of pressure???

He was Buzzer Beater Ray for the last season he was here. Don't you remember? Does that count as "it"? Does CP3 have "it"? If so, then "it" is nice.

DJ has got to go. Just get him out of here. One or two great games a month, a good game here and there and then a bunch of mediocre no shows throughout the entire season which is what DJ is. No consistency. People LOVE to chirp up his great games but they ignore the 40 or so no shows he has during the season. Hello? 40 or so no shows. Who cares if he plays like a superstar for 10 games??? The DJ era is over. (Thank God)

MJ should pay me for all of this excellent advice I've been giving him for the past 5 years.

lol, can't disagree with this. This is basically the argument they have against Felton but it seems to be OK for DJ. Time to turn the page past them all and see what Kemba brings.
