Bobcats Hire Rob Werdann

"We’re excited to have Rob Werdann joining our staff," Silas said. "His experience as both a coach and a scout will benefit our team, especially our big men."

Don't really know much about him. Potentially bad news for Oakley fans.

Absolutely loved what Oakley brought, but from the sounds of it he won't be coaching again. I'm sure if he does decide to get back into coaching the Bobcats would have him back. We had Silas and 3 assistants last season; don't most teams have 4? Anyway, i'm like you and know very little about this guy, anyone got info?

That link shows him as working at Golden State most recently and the Hornets before that. Odds are strong that he has previous ties with both Sails.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Oh wow haven't thought about this guy in a long time. He played at my favorite college bball team St. Johns, before that he was the center at Archbishop Molloy High School in Queens NY playing alongside Kenny Anderson. I assume he was brought in to work with Bismack and Tyrus.

I've heard that doesn't mean Oakley can't be back as Silas had only 3 assistants so there is a room for him. I hope it is just sign of careful approach to have a way to go in worst case scenario. I want him back as anyone here.

I didn't check - may it be Higgins know him from GSW or at least his ties there worked somehow?

Oakley has a lawsuit pending against some hotel which allegedly caused his back problem so I think he probably doesn't want to work right now until that gets straightened out. If he's working full time and traveling the lawyers for the hotel will probably use that against him in the lawsuit. I'm sure when he recovers from back surgery MJ will welcome him with open arms. If not this season then definitely next. Now if he wins millions in the lawsuit then perhaps he's not so eager to rush back to work...

i didnt think of it that way. im sure his lawyers dont want him jumping up and down on the bench when he is trying to sue for back problems.
