Very interesting.

Those splits are huge.

Someone on the comments of the articles posted Splits from other teams, equally as huge. Also, some players on the jays had the opposite effect, bad at home, amazing on the road.

The article is complete garbage and speculation, I can't believe it's going to get the pageviews its going to get.

Not really that interesting if you read the article. Mostly crap. According to the article, the Blue Jays hired the man in white in 2006 only to fire him in 2007 and re-hire him in 2010.

If you want to see interesting splits, check out the Brewers.

Fielder:

.753 Road

Lucroy:
.885 Home
.604 Road

On its own the evidence looks pretty convincing. But when you compare its other HR hitting teams and teams that play in hitters parks you realize that this is just a bunch of garbage.

Three things that tell me it's garbage...

- do they have any former Jays admitting this happened? There are a few disenchanted ex-jays who you'd think would be happy to dish on their former team, yet ESPN comes up with no one?

- the jays were (and still kind of are) a free-swinging team. They swing at more pitches than other teams and hit more home runs.

- home field advantage....not that hard to imagine. Do you think players in boston adjusted to hitting at the green monster? I'm sure stats suggest they did.

If it were true you'd hear more than a few ex-Jays talking a bout it in the media. BS article.

Of course not, why ruin a perfectly good story with facts right?

I have it on good authority that the Yankees are in possession of a time machine salvaged from the Roswell UFO crash-site. They use this to chart the type and location of every pitch thrown against them during a game and then someone goes back in time to tip the Yanks off.

Now that's cheating. Too bad that despite this advantage, the Yanks failed to win the World Series for the past few years.

Who's my source on this? Well, I have 32 players who don't want to reveal themselves as rats so the nameless shall remain nameless.

You should read this: http://blogs.thescore.com/mlb/2011/08/10/on-false-evidence/ it's stricky a breakdown of the stats and how they're cherry picked.

thats just the nature of the business of sports and media

i dont understand the uproar though, every team does it, some get caught and then just change their methods and do it again....wasnt another team caught last year using binoculars?

To me this is freaking (Please Use More Appropriate Word), how can a batter see a man in the outfield who is dressed in white giving them signs. They say the "sign" is he raises his arms up so I guess when people do the "wave" they are all sending signs to Toronto and I guess Tupac and Biggie are in the press box calling the game as well with Elvis singing "Take me out to the ball game" during the 7th inning stretch as well. I guess this guy is back and is Toronto's god send.

It's not at all surprising that Yankees/Red Sox fans would agree with the "report".
