Look how many guys in their 20's are out there who love sports and would think it would be cool to not just meet the athletes of a team they cheer for, but also hang out with them and party with them. Mix in all the cash Shapiro had, i just think he was very attracted to the idea of partying with and foolishly believing he was friends with these athletes. Going to clubs with them. Hanging on his yacht with them.
He found out recently though that those players weren't really his friend, they were using him just as he was using the players to make himself feel like he was apart of something that he really wasn't.
