Cano looked alert, Alex and Jetes look alert, we have a Damon type resemblance sighting, I still don't expect to win tonight, but dammit atleast there's a resemblance of fight.

mike myers should not pitch more than an inning. He can't keep guys off the base. and once they reach, he can't keep them from stealing, he is a mess.. Our hitting is a joke. If I were a base runner, I would be running every damn pitch, in fear of the double play. I mean got damn, I bet we lead the league in double plays by far!!!!!!

Glavine has nothing today. We should have put up a 5-10 spot on him. Unfortunately, we let him off the hook. That's like the 5th liner we've hit right at fielders.

Yeah, I agree.

That being said, I think that if we get a good pitching performance by Clippard tommorow, we'll win. John Maine sucks and I expect the Yankees to hit him hard. The Yankees showed signs out of breaking out of their slumps, and I expect them to just kill Maine tommorow.

Maine is pretty damn good. I thought he was even pretty solid as an Oriole. You may not think he is too good but based on what he has done this year, there is little reason to EXPECT a win tomorrow going against a guy making his major league debut.

bahh ... cmaff just doesn't like him because Maine's best pitch is his fastball although this year his secondary pitches has been better. I doubt cmaff has ever seen him, maybe he saw him when he was an Oriole.

Anyways, this was a good game. The Yankees will obviously turn it around ... hopefully for my Mets once Mota comes back from his suspension Willie demotes Blowenweiss instead of Ambiriox Burgos.

Looking foward to that kid Clippard tomorrow ... by the way cmaff hypes him he must be a very good pitching prospect.
LOL Y U MAD THO?

Come on, his secondary pitches are garbage. :nonono: :nonono: He has a fastball and that's it. His command is awful too.

He's going to come back to Earth soon... hopefully it starts tonight. Maine doesn't suck per se but he isn't anything more than a 4th or 5th starter. In the AL, he's probably a middle reliever.

And yes, I try to watch as many Maine starts as I can. I've seen about 4 of his starts so far.

Clippard is a very solid prospect, easily a top 5 prospect in our system which is arguably a top 5 system in baseball. Get ready to see some FILTHY secondary pitches tomorrow night. What worries me about tomorrow night is that Clippard's calling card is his control, and few pitchers have great control in their first ML start due to nerves. Even Hughes didn't have it his first start.
