I still would take Drummond simply because of the drought at the 5, but I think Davis is really the most talented and complete prospect. A team already set at PF would do otherwise, but a team like Detroit or Toronto would probably serve better taking Davis.
If Davis and Drummond are the top two talents on the board when raps aren't going to worry about position but draft bpa.
With Val taking the 5 spot either Davis or Drummond would be PF majority of time.
I actually don't agree because I think it will become a justification of best "potential" available....I do believe that Davis at his potential is a better player then Okafor but I liken the decision to Howard over Okafor....I don't care how good Davis looks in college, if Drummond appears to be even close to being on par he's going to get selected by almost any team; no questions asked.
If we're talking about the Raptors in particular, I'm sorry but there's NO WAY Colangelo would take Davis over Drummond. You mention Val (who's yet to play a single game for the Raps) but completely leave out Bargnani who BC has shown an unwavering devotion to and will enter the first of his very unappealing 5yr contract. Nvm already having Ed Davis and Amir there....so you can bet the farm that Colangelo would take his shot pairing him with a potential C especially with how thin that position is on that roster.
Whether Drummond plays like Amare or not (offensively: key word), the fact is he is already bigger then him, plays better defence and is likely to be on par with Howard's weight when he is already taller then him and Amare....no teams ever pass on the next potential "great" big man (ie/ center)....imo he would be used just as much a PF as Tim Duncan; which is offensively like PF but defensively like a C.
