lucky 13: Seahawks vs Rams MNF

After dominating Philly the Seahawks have come to their Monday night meeting with the hapless Ram's. Seattle owns the NFL's all time best winning percentage for MNF (it's a trap!), and they are home(get to the choppa!).

This will be the all "no healthy Tackles" game as both team are completely screwed up for offensive lineman. Paul "Mask" McQuistan will be the new LT for Seattle, but Cher won't be there to save him from Chris Long. Likewise Clemons will be drooling to pickup a few sacks on the Rams. This looks to be another ground game grinder with Beastmode and Jackson on the opposing squads. Seattle is battling for a longshot wildcard spot, while the Rams are just trying to figure out what the hell happened this year. That doesn't mean this isn't a FREAKING TRAP game, though.

Injury update:

Image

Seahawks-

Okung- gone for the year via a cheap shot from Trent Cole
Hawethorn- gimpy knee but should play
Maxwell- questionable due to illness
Brock- questionable with calf injury

Lambs

Out
QB A.J. Feeley (thumb)
KR Quinn Porter (abdomen)
Questionable
QB Sam Bradford (ankle)
DE Chris Long (ankle)
DT Fred Robbins (back)
FB Brit Miller (knee)
Probable
OT Mark LeVoir (chest)
DE Eugene Sims (ankle)
TE Lance Kendricks (not injury related)

Things to Watch:

1-New left tackle
Let's hope he doen't lose his helmet during the game:
Image

2- Tate no thing but a chicken wing
Golden had a good game in his first start last week. Now let's see if he can flash more good hands and fancy moves.

3-Clemons sack count
He could pass his total of 11 from last year if he has a big game vs the junior varsity lineman the rams are sporting these days.

4-Lynch
Needs one more td to tie Alexanders 9 game td streak. He's running to get paid, and it looks like he's earning every penny of a new contract these days.

5- Browner
Evil Bert is one of the best CB's in the league according to the NFL rankings, but ahhh isn't he due for about 4 penalties in this game?

Predictions-
Seattle 24 rams 10

What an awful set of results for the Hawks in the Sunday early games. Both the Lions and Falcons pull out last minute wins.

The chances Seattle ends up with a win Monday are also ridiculously high. Bradford's been getting some practice time in late, but the odds are good that our defense is facing a 3rd string QB who's never played in an NFL game AT home. Not good for draftwatchers.

With RGIII winning the Heisman, you'd have to think our chances at drafting Luck/Barkley/RGIII are just about zero unless we trade to move up.

Even with our depleted offensive line, this should be a comfortable win for us, even a drubbing. Right? But leave it to the Seahawks to find a way to make this game "interesting" against a weak opponent, after beating the likes of the Giants on the road, Baltimore at home, and having somewhat respectable performances against Atlanta and even San Francisco.

 Yes, that's me, "draft-watcher".

To be honest, I can't remember ever being so fixated on our draft spot like I have the past two years, especially this year. It's simply because of our desperate need for a QB prospect, and when I thought going into this year was going to be the year that would yield us a shot at a top QB prospect in a strong year for drafting QB's.

I hate being conflicted about such a thing in such a way. It's a real mind/heart thing. The heart always wants to win, but the mind knows what it takes to beat the parity-game in the NFL these days.

Can anyone suggest a football *shrink* to send me to?

I was a draft watcher last year especially after the 49ers loss. But I just cant do that this year. If we won out we would have a pretty good conference record and a good shot at winning 3 way ties. I also believe that team would trade up a for a QB. We'll see.

We absorbed the loss of Moffitt and Carpenter without missing a beat, but man does this line look bad without Okung.

K.J. Wright is all over the place tonight. Watching him make plays on screens and get to the QB certainly doesn't make me pine for Aaron Curry.

yeah, I'm glad to see Tate start to play well.

As far as the draft... roller coaster season for all of us waiting for a QB of the future.
Now we are more in the Vontaze Burfict draft zone, but still need a QB, and also... don't really need a LB unless you consider Leroy over the Hill next year.

I still say take our lumps to trade up regardless of the terrible cost. (and it is considering how well the Schneid and PC draft)

yeah, i'd try to trade up as long as the price is reasonable. we've drafted so well the last two years i'm confident in our ability to come away with value if some of our prime picks are traded away and we're reliant on late second/third day selections. and i mean, trading up for a qb is generally worth the investment. it's not like we'd be giving premium picks for a d-end.
