Nobody can exchange 30+ million in salary to take him and still remain competitive (as well as satisfy laker management demands). Even if the impossible did happen and he got traded, we could then find a way to seriously clear cap and then go after Dwill and/or Dwight next summer.
Really, Kobe is ****. And it's coming from multiple fronts right now.
Man, I wake up today to the news we might get KLove and Beast Williams for Pau ... WOW!!!!! Of course there will be more to that deal as it doesn't work finanically but something like Pau, Ebanks, Caracter, rights to Goudelock, picks and cash for Love, Williams, Darko and Tolliver would work ... honestly I'd trade Bynum and picks for Love and Williams and Pau for Love and Beasley ... if we really got Love and Derrick, wow.
Now ... to the KOBE SITUATION mentioned above ... while I would be ecstatic to get Love and Williams for Pau as I'm sure we could easily package Bynum and Derrick Williams for D12 straight up, no Hedo or picks needed ... this also SCARES ME BIG TIME.
Why? Because, we just traded Odom for a pick and cap relief and now we are trading Pau for two youngsters ... doesn't it sort of seem like Kobe is next and that Jim Buss plan is NOT to get D12 but to build around Bynum, something we all feared would happen last year when Dr. Buss handed the reigns over to Jimmy?
Think about it ... Bynum, Love and Williams ... that is a front line that could dominate for the next 8-10 years, and if you can get a nice young PG and SG in return for Kobe you have a new young starting 5 ready to roll for the next decade ... uh-oh.
POSSIBLE KOBE TRADES ... from MOST UNLIKELY TO MOST LIKELY:Kobe to the Magic for Jameer, Redick, Jason Richardson, Orton, picks and cash
NOTE: The Lakers could seemingly do much, much better than this package for the Black Mamba but if Jim Buss was really dedicated to moving him and he forced their hand, he could join Superman in Orlando and save that city from their worst nightmare.
Kobe, Fisher and Caracter to GSW for Curry, Ellis, Kwame, Amundsun, picks and cash
NOTE: If you don't think Jim Buss would do this trade after a Pau for Love/Williams you're insane ... he would. As for Kobe ... I don't see him waiving his no trade clause for the Warriors.
Kobe, Blake and Barnes to the Grizzlies for Gay, Mayo and Conley
NOTE: I believe Jim Buss would do this trade if he could move Gay and Conley to another team for a better PG ... the Nets for Deron Williams perhaps? Kobe in Memphis sounds unthinkable but he may just sign off on playing with Z-Bo, Marc Gasol and a tough SF like Tony Allen ...
Kobe, Fisher, Artest and McRoberts to the 76'ers for Jrue, Evan, Brand, Nocioni and Battie
NOTE: This is the deal that makes the absolute most sense for the Lakers. Jrue Holiday and Evan Turner would be the perfect PG/SG combo to add to a Bynum/Love/Williams frontcourt and the Lakers would seriously have assembled a team for the next decade indeed. The 76'ers on the other hand would have a starting 5 of Fisher/Bryant/Iggy/Young/Hawes with backups such as Lou Williams, Meeks, MWP and Mo Speights giving them one of the best lineups in the East ... I could see Kobe waiving his trade clause to return home to Philly and help resurrect that franchise.
Kobe to the Knicks for Amare, Douglas, Fields, picks and cash
NOTE: This is the trade that makes the most sense for Kobe and since he has one of the league's only no-trade clauses, he holds all the cards and a trade to the Knicks is the most likely. Obviously this would require a third team as the Lakers may okay the value their receiving in this trade but would rather have Amare, Douglas and Fields going to a 3rd team (Denver perhaps with Ty Lawson and a S&T'd Wilson Chandler going to the Lakers) so they can receive a better PG and SG ... Kobe would waive his no trade clause to play with Melo and Chandler under D'Antoni in the Garden, and a starting 5 of Baron/Shumpert/Kobe/Melo/Chandler with guys like Bibby, Outlaw, Walker, Jordan, etc off the bench would be dynamic ... add a Steve Nash next year and the Knicks may win their first title since the 70s quite soon.
GOD HELP US ALL!!!!
