hermitkid wrote:This Blatche at center suggestion that gets thrown around on occasion is quite funny. If he can't cut at PF because he's afraid of contact what makes you think that he'll cut it at the position that requires even more physical play??
Induveca wrote:Nivek,
Agreed not willing to wait on Blatche either...........just as with any organization the first "big move" will unfortunately be decided between ownership and management (Flip/Ernie). With Leonsis' personality that kind of move will automatically buy Flip/EG some time likely into next season unless the entire thing completely falls apart even after the trade. Trust me as soon as Leonsis were to bring up the subject, management types like EG and Flip will attempt to deflect all blame on the guy currently on the hot seat (Blatche).
The best move would be to axe both Flip and EG TODAY. Bring in Jerry West and beg Hubie Brown to finish out the year as a teaching coach. Once West is in the door Blatche is out of here within a week. If not, the front office culture will be in equal disarray/distrust/"I'm next" mentality for the remainder of the season.
It's an inevitability EG and Flip get fired......just get it over with now and do the whole organization and fanbase a favor.
If the West/Brown scenario is too illogical due to their age....so be it. Bring in Pritchard and let Cassell finish out the season.

At 25, he looked older than Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and KG on the court last night. Under contract for 3 more years after this one, he won't get serious until the 2014-2015 season.

hermitkid wrote:Reading his line and not watching the game is exactly why people actually think the guy may have value.
Not bothering to challenge shots, taking terrible shots, getting outworked for position on the defensive glass are the kind of things that don't shot up on that stat sheet, but they do show up in the W/L column.
The guy is a loser and one, by this season's standard, good game isn't going to change it.

tontoz wrote:Here's hoping he focuses only on catch and shoot jumpers and stops the off the dribble/fake post up fadeaway jumpers. If he does that he might sucker a GM into trading for him.

fishercob wrote:Yes, and to the extent that anyone is tempted to get excited by Blatche's 28 points on 20 shots -- if he put up that TS% of .574 for an entire season last year he would have been tied for 83rd with Patrick Patterson, just behind Martell Webster and just ahead of Melvin Ely.
So.....yeah.

A few more "good" games, and he might manage to get it up to 40%.

And yet our #1 pick is at .317
Obviously lots of players have gotten off to a slow start. The first 4 game were down right ugly.
