It seems to me that Amare + Melo + Tyson core is not gonna work. Time to make some change.

Amare + Toney + Fields for Rondo + Allen + Bass
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=6q5anqo

The new core, Rondo + Melo + Tyson will be much more balanced. I think it's worth a try.

OMG, I can't stand all of the little kids on this board. It's not time to abandon Amar'e. It's time to abandon RealGM. I get less enjoyment from posting here and reading this crap than I do watching the Knicks lose. Horrendous.

It was ridiculous that NY threw the contract that they did at Amare. I actually think if Melo was smart, he shouldn't have come to NY. He isn't winning with Amare at PF and NY doesn't have flexibility with the deal they gave to Amare.

And that was my belief the day he was signed. I'm no band wagoner on this one.

NY fans do not understand that Amare has no trade value.

I was not for Amare's signing nor Carmelo's trade, I like my franchise "Max Cats" to play defense.

I dont think it's the players , but the system. Knicks need a smart coach who can create a good system for the players he has. Dantoni has a syste, and is trying to make the players fit into it. Knicks needs a more reflexive coach who can actually implement and create a system that utilizes Amare and Melo better. My 2 cents.

Its early season ... if anything, Knicks need to fire D'antoni before they trade Amare. He just doesn't fit with this group.

It's like Knick fans have already forgotten this man had 9 straight 30+ point games last season, and he's still playing without a PnR PG.

Amar'e will be fine, but he's definitely showing his limitations. I think he sees Chandler getting easy alley-oops, Melo going 1-on-1 and getting to the hoop with success, and out of jealousy, is pressing a bit and going out of his skillset. Plus, his jumper is broke, but I know someone with his work ethic will get it back eventually.

I always felt this way from the start. I felt that the Knicks should of never gave Amare that contract. It was just to risky.

Because no team in the NBA other than the desperate Knicks would have given him such a huge contract with no clauses which can not be insured.

At his age, injury history and salary, with no insurance no NBA team will be willing to give up anything for him. Many might not even take that risk for free.

If this is the first play of the game, fine.

But when this is the 4th quarter with your team down big and needing some fire and intensity from their leadership, and this dude has been personally whipping you like you're Denzel in Glory the whole game, how can this play possibly be interpreted as anything less than poor effort, lack of heart, and no accountability?

I'm not even kidding when I say I'd rather have seen him draw a flagrant and multiple game suspension for punching Diaw in the back of the head on the way to the basket after he got beat, just so it would be obvious he at least gave a sh*t. He just doesn't care about defense at this point. He gives it awesome lip service in the press, but nothing beyond that.

MD is the weak link here.

this

issue #1 - sadly, D'antoni
issue #2 - you need a PG

I would try changing this way before any talk about trading him, he has been good enough in the past to justify some adjustments around him

on defense I'm not sure if he's the product of years of D'Antoni system or he's just preserving his knee, I agree right now he is Bargnanesque, but with his physical strenght he just need hustle and focus to be -at least- adequate

Oh, wow. Getting owned like that by Boris Diaw at his slowest and fattest point in his career. We maxed out this guy.

no matter who you would get as PG it wouldnt make much of a difference because the real problem is that Amare and Carmelo are too similiar. They both want the ball and they both score in similiar situations.

As if Carmelo would allow any PG to dominate the ball and run the team over him.

Billups, Andre Miller, and Iverson would disagree with you
