i honestly wouldnt have even called it a foul at all ... destroyed the quality of the game.. i was hoping for a good one. Chris foy needs to start calling arsenal games, i see arsenal players get it worse week in week out.

Chris Foy is just a terrible ref. He's one of those who's not even biased. He just sucks.

5 years ago, that's probably a foul but no card.
10 years ago, it's probably not even a foul, but maybe people raise an eyebrow and question whether or not it was reckless.
15 years ago it's a great tackle.

Just the way the game has changed. 99% of the time, the second you go in with two feet it's a foul, and an almost certain card. The refs are in a tough spot, to be honest - they need to stamp out the dangerous tackles, and while not all dangerous tackles are two footed, most two footed tackles carry an element of danger. Personally I think that was a decent tackle by Kompany, but the ref only sees it once, at full speed, and his first reaction is probably two feet = foul/card.

I think even a yellow would have been a little harsh considering it was a good tackle and Nani was perfectly fine. Foy's probably the only one who would send a player off for that and not book Giggs for his foul.

nani didnt even cry out like his usual self , and not a single united player protested the tackle. Pretty bad call if you ask me. City will appeal and the suspension will be lifted im guessing.

Very surprised with how strong our line-up is against Portsmouth, I'm guessing that the FA Cup is a must for AVB this season then.

That hit Jone's arm, but that would have been harsh.

harsh in what way? he threw him self to the ground to impede the progress of the ball and it hit his hand ... thats illegal and not within the rules...

It looked to me like the ball bounced off his leg first.

Anyway I think this game's actually going to help City with their confidence.

Agreed. City showed Man Utd how to play from behind when down to 10 men. Stark contrast to United's undisciplined play late on in the 1-6 game at Old Trafford.

If he had the skills of even an average Brazilian midfielder or David Luiz, he'd be a world class player. His pace and acceleration are just incredible. Very Kaka-like

4-0 win for Chelsea.
