A very good question.

I would like too, but I can't think of many options that wouldn't be too expensive. Haven't seen us linked with any either.

We don't really have many effective wingers anyway. Right now it's Walcott/Gervinho, and after that... Chamberlain? Benayoun? Arshavin is as out of form as Chamakh, and on his way out of the club. Miyaichi isn't ready and is heading out on loan (Fulham or PSV, I hear).

Podolski can fit effectively wide left or in the middle, same as Henry (hopefully). He would be able to play up front in a partnership with RvP too, which is I'm guessing the thought behind a Podolski bid.

Impressive signing. They'll have quite a collection of attacking midfielders next season.

They still need to find a way to replace Sahin though. Gundogan isn't cutting it so far.

I never thought Reus would go to Dortmund considering he would probably make a lot more money in Munich.

Dortmund vs. Munich will be even more exciting next season then.

Munich already has Ribery, Robben and Müller as wingers. Even considering that Franck and Arjen are injury prone, Reus would risk riding the bench. Also, Munich does not really need more offensive firepower, they need better defenders.

A lot of reports that Arsenal have made a bid for Anderlecht striker Matias Suarez. Can't say I've seen much of him apart from youtube clips.

Reports that FCPorto is interested in Shaquiri, and Basel is asking for 13-15M€. If this is true, Hulk could be on his way out, now or at season end.

Reports in France claim Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan have agreed a deal that will take Alexandre Pato to the French capital for around 35 million euros.

AFP cites sources from the French club and owners QSI confirming that the two clubs are in agreement after PSG made a fresh offer on Wednesday.

It is believed the Ligue 1 leaders will pay 28m euros up front, with another 7m euros to come in the form of future payments.

AFP reports Pato, 22, has agreed an annual salary of up to 7m euros.

His agent is expected to arrive in Paris on Friday to finalise the deal, which would serve to underline the growing ambition on display at Parc des Princes.

The summer capture of Palermo playmaker Javier Pastore signalled the French club are aiming for the top of the game under their Qatari owners, but prising Pato from Milan would be another huge statement of intent.

The striker has scored 51 goals in 111 Serie A games for the Rossoneri and if he does move to Paris will link up once again with former Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Interesting development, may be they just need the cash badly to sign Tevez.

Keane seals return to EPL with loan to Aston Villa

Robbie Keane is headed back to familiar territory, returning to the Premier League as the latest LA Galaxy player to head out on loan.

The Galaxy announced on Wednesday that the Irish striker would join Aston Villa on loan effective immediately and will be available for as many as eight EPL and FA Cup matches. Keane, who began training with Villa earlier this week after a short training stint with Tottenham, could appear for the Birmingham-based club as early as Saturday against LA teammate Landon Donovan and Everton.

Aston Villa will be the striker’s fifth Premier League club, following stints with Coventry City, Leeds United, Liverpool and Tottenham in the top division. Keane will remain with the Villans until the end of February before meeting up with the Republic of Ireland for a friendly against the Czech Republic in Dublin as the country prepares for the 2012 European Championship. He will then rejoin the Galaxy prior to the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal against Toronto FC at Rogers Centre on March 7.

Is Tevez really worth it?

Always thought we could've gone for Pato, especially since we had interest in him not so long ago. And he's young.

As of now Tevez is the better player by just a bit but getting him at the expense of a talented 22 year old is a big risk and his attitude when combined with Ibra, Robinho and Cassano will be even more of a problem. May be its good for Milan it didn't go through.

Inter or PSG now I reckon.

Gibbo to Everton done. That's agent Saha, agent Neville and agent Gibbo now for easy 3 points some day down the line.

Darron Gibson signs a four and a half year deal at Everton on an undisclosed fee. Massive signing! But in all seriousness if there's anybody who can fulfil his potential it's David moyes.

Hopefully this means Rodwell is available

I don't think there's much potential in Gibbo to be unearthed. He's a tidy midfielder with a vicious right foot and that's pretty much it. He can pass the ball laterally and keeps the game moving but he cannot take the initiative and make a killer pass or drive an attack forward like quality midfielders do.

He rarely makes mistakes though, so he could be fine in a 3 man midfield and he could make a solid career if he could tackle like Fletcher or showed half that energy in pressing the opposition.

He's only 24 and I agree there's not much left to be unearthed but at least we all get to see what he really is capable of since this is his first chance of getting regular football.

I'm more concerned about Rodwell, I really hope that he can be had now. Go AVB!
