I used to live in Toronto and was a big fan of Bosh and the Raptors (still am but don't follow them as much). When I moved down here they had just won the championship the year. I instantly became a fan of the Heat and Heat culture.. started going to games and loved it.

Then FA happened lol my two favorite players (Bosh and Bron) joined Wade and the Heat! Lol best moment as a Heat fan. Even if I move now I'll still be a Heat fan because my love for basketball grew more and more while I was in Miami and was rooting for the Heat.

This. I'm an OG Heat fan...

same. i even made a submission for the contest to name the new team. i was 11. the name of the team i came up with: the miami vice...

Yes sir. Old school. I remember, as a child, thinking that Kevin Edwards was hot **** and would be an All-Star.

I don't think it was until Riles came into the picture that I got really (overly) excited about what the franchise could accomplish. Took a bit longer than I thought, but whatever. :D

Well, the first miami heat game I watched was the ECF finals game 1 against the Pistons in 06. That was the first time I had seen Wade play in an actual game. I did manage to see highlights weeks earlier, but once I saw them I knew D-Wade wasnt just anybody. From that point on, I continued to watch games and couldnt help but root for him. To me, at the time I was 12 and didnt know much about basketball, it surprised me that someone not named Kobe was dominating like Wade was and became a fan of Mr. Wade in the process. Living in L.A. was hard during the 07 season though, not gonna lie. My friends couldnt wait to laugh at me after every Heat loss. I can comfortably say that I'm not a fake a fan, because any ordinary bandwagoner would have switched teams at the time. Not once did I think of rooting for another team. In the process though, I became a Laker hater haha. Since my friends couldnt wait to rub it in, i couldnt wait for Lakers to lose so I could do the same. But anyways, in 2008 I had no doubts D-Wade would be back, but man was he ballin'! Made me proud to be a fan and he deserved MVP that year. Everyone here SHOULD agree with that. Lastly, best believe I called up everyone when Lebron announced he was coming lol I had to haha

Anyways thats my story, most would say im a bandwagon fan since I became a fan the year they won, but through thick and thin, I stayed a fan. I always checked ESPN b4 I went to school that year to see if we won. Never lost hope for this team and never will. Go Heat.

I was only 8 when the Heat played their first season... But already a basketball junkie. My old name used to be HeatFanSince88, but lost that password a long time go so just changed to "87" since technically that was when they were made, I guess. I was more casual fan until the 1991-92 season when Steve Smith became without a doubt my favorite player and the number always would wear. I'll always luv that 91-92 team so much. Grant Long was our early version of Haslem, Steve Smith, Glen Rice, Bimbo Coles, the "Spin Doctor" Siekely, Kevin Edwards, Alan Ogg, Askins, Burton! etc. I'll never forget Steve Smith coming out game 3 at the old Miami Arena all fired up during intros against the NBA champion Bulls! I'll never forgot being so close to that awesome first playoff win! I'll never forget Jordan going off for 55! Lol, Man, I remember as a kid I would take regular season losses SO HARD. I mean.. Wake up in the middle of the night after a close loss.. Tossing and turning, replaying plays in my head. Sh6t.. I think I still do that at 31! Lol! It's amazing, as I type this, watching the Heat play the Bucks in my office, most of my Heat memorabilia on the wall and desk is from that era.

I was so hyped before the 92-93 season.. Harold Miner fell into our laps at 12, picked up a champion tested John Sally. I thought we were on our way! I remember we struggled, Smith was hurt most of the season, Sally disappointed and we didn't take that next step. 93-94... Man we were SO close to that huge upset vs the Hawks. I'll never forget GMoneys tip in game winner game 1 in ATL, but we blew 2-1 lead.. Wasn't meant to be. That era came to end.. My two favorite Heat players of all time were traded for Kevin Willis and I was devastated! We traded Siekely for Billy Owens.. Man I DID NOT like that team of Willis, Owens etc.

Thank the basketball Gods in the summer of 1995 Mickey Arison became majority owner and landed us the great Pat Riley..and the rest as they say, is history!

One of the greatest rivalarys of all time... 4 years in a row, every season going to the final game, and in the last two the final shot! So many subplots it's ridiculous..

Former Knicks coach Riley on Heat, JVG/Riley protege not being allowed to go with Riley to Miami so he becomes Knicks head coach, JVGs brother Stan joining the Heat staff, Ewing vs his protege Zo, former teammates who hated eachother LJ and Zo, PJ Brown and Chris Childs former good friends and teammates, Spreewell almost going to the Heat then the Knicks coming in and snatching him up... Lol crazy man!
