Why do we need to judge a kid in his first few games and try to forecast his whole future as a NBA player?

the odds that any of these comparisons turns to be true is ridiculously low. Trading him assuming people will price in the uncertainty of his skill in our favor is also nonsense.

He's doing fine, showing up in Rookie Ladder at ESPN every now and then, scoring, rebounding....let him play.

That is the most important point. He is giving the team more production than we've had in a while from a rookie. He's proving himself to be versatile and serviceable.

Give him some time to get past the "rookie hump" stage, and then let's see how he progresses from there.

Kieff is servicable. I think he has shown to be what channing frye should be but its another thing to think that this guy could be a star. Amare brought it since day 1 so did Nash. Nash just didnt have as much opportunity to show his ability because he had KJ and J-kidd. Kieff doesnt have anyone in the team at his position that has a star quality. I think he is porductive just not the star that phx needs.

I have no expectation of Markieff being a star. The initial arguement was whether he was a star or not. He is not a star, and he may never be. But to write someone off of EVER being a star in the NBa careers, this early into their first season, is just ridiculous to me.

There is no pressure on Markieff. I am overly happy with him now. He is not expected to be a star, but who knows, sometime down the track he could be. That doesnt mean I EXPECT him to be a star.

The expectations are insinuated when you bring up names like Nash, Rondo and Arenas, guys who came in with not fairly low expectations and turned into stars. Certainly not calling him a bust since I am very happy with his development thus far (I still think he should have more minutes to play with the 2nd unit so he can learn without Nash's spoon feeding) and want to see him keep it up.

I don't mind Morris getting Nash-less minutes, but when Gentry is having those minutes with Telfair, what's the point (sorry no pun intended.)

I still would like to do the Lopez for Lou trade, and move Frye to the five off the bench. That would mean that Morris would be the starter. But that makes sense, since he really is our only PF.

I would move Hill to the bench and start Chilldress in his place. So you run Nash, Dudley, Chilldress, Morris, Gortat, that way even though Nash is there, Morris plays with guys that will most likely still be on the team next year. Bench becomes Price, part Redd part Brown, Hill, Lou, Frye. Warrick and Telfair only see the floor when absolutely needed. Fire Gentry, let our Russian assistant finish the year.

If he does well, sign him for another year, but only one. All the while search for a new head coach. Actually, I would like to try a Laimbeer head coach, with Hornacek as lead assistant. I would hire Kareem as our big man coach, or if we could Hakeem. Hire a whole new scouting team, trying to get as many Spur scouts as I could, overpY them if you had to, it doesn't affect the cap. Keep our training staff at all costs.
