Why?

1) we stop running that damn UCLA high post offense that we have been running so much while DJ is out. go to an offense that is more penetrate and kick to feature kemba and dj.
2) we play at a faster pace.... and mean it this time
3) he hires at least one assistant who has previous head coaching experience
4) he continues to play biz over diop, diaw, thomas, white, najera and any other big who is not part of the long term plans.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing but expecting different results. Crunk asks me why I do not want a Silas. See above. My question is WHY does junior deserve a HC position?
Jordan hired Silas as the gap coach...a guy to take over from the mess Larry had created, but also to be the guy who followed a legend. I can guarantee you the plan he is following does not involve this current coaching staff. Silas knows this...he's a good soldier and is doing the best he can to manage the transition while preserving the tank.

I think that every coach is obliged to say that before a season. Most of them say that very few do that.
Well it's hard to run an uptempo offense when you
1. can't force turnovers (28th overall, 29th in steals)
2. can't get rebounds (25th defensive, 19th in offensive allowed)
3. can't force bad shots (27th in OFG%, 23rd in O3P%)

only reason i would consider silas jr would be if we plan on tanking again next year as well. so assume we dont add any free agents of note and we add 1 top 5 pick to this current team, we are still going to be atrocious next year. give silas jr a one year deal, if he does an amazing job he can get an extension, if not it will then be the perfect time for bringing in a solid vet head coach. i just doubt we will be able to find many coaches interested in coaching us next year if the roster is more of the same.
then again, i totally understand the logic to go a new way considering the results from this year, whether blame is deserved or not.
Bassman wrote:Whether Silas will be a good head coach or not, when you make a move you clean house. That's just how it is done. No one wants to follow a coaching legend, even if his later days stuck up the joint. Paul was available, local and willing to step into the gap quickly. He became the caretaker of the rehab project (tearing down the house to the studs). I do not see he or any of his staff being part of the rebuild. The rebuild has to start after this disasterous season is over. Although he was all in on the restructure, MJ clearly didn't see this train wreck coming. We all laugh at the "TANK" approach and endorse it, but I guarantee you Jordan is pis*** off big time.
I am sure MJ and his team have begun quietly evaluating potential coaches. I predict Silas will be gone within 5 days of the end of the season, with a new hire made 2 weeks later.
