http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/75696 ... ward-tradeSorry if it was already posted, but this article goes through some actual trade scenarios that make sense for the most part. I like the last trade the most. Everyone has said we could flip gasol to houston, but that the lakers dont want to give up both bynum and gasol for Dwight.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=7v2hqlkTo Los Angeles: Dwight Howard, Luis Scola, Jameer Nelson
To Houston: Pau Gasol, Matt Barnes, LAL first-round pick
To Orlando: Andrew Bynum, Kevin Martin, Goran Dragic, Chandler Parsons
In this case however, the lakers get a reasonable replacement for pau in scola and an upgrade at pg with jameer as well. That sweetens the deal enough in my opinion.
As for the Magic, I think Dragic is a future star that's been relegated to the bench (and in turn his development slowed) thanks to kyle lowry's emergence. Martin gives us a good shooter who can also slash and get to the foul line. Parsons is a young piece who has shown some promise as a potential point forward and turk replacement down the road. Finally, Bynum is the stud center that can keep us a contender.
I will HATE to see Dwight in a Lakers uniform, but as kobe has gotten older, he has become more of a liability for that team than an asset. And between Kobe and Dwight's contracts, they won't have cap space for a long time. I truly don't believe they would come out of the west (especially with Dwight's arch nemesis in Perkins out west now... with the best team in the west).
