I truely believe if Munich had a striker like Cavani that is able to create chances for himself as well as for others they would be much more dangerous offensively.
Instead they're probably going to buy Gomez version 2.0 Olivier Giroud. Although Giroud is probably a little more skilled with the ball than Gomez.

Comes from buying Gomez for 35 mil. when everyone and my grandmother knew they should've bought Dzeko for the same money instead.
This. So damn hard. Gomez has clearly got quite a bit of Gerd Mueller's "right place at the right time" ability, but he's just so unskilled that it kills them. Makes their offensive attacks so simple, if Gomez could draw defenders out of position and play passes to the many talented scorers Bayern has, Robben, Mueller, Kroos, Ribery, Schweini, that offense would be so much more dangerous. Admittedly that would involve changing their style of play since they're offense is so predicated on one of their wingers doing amazing things, be it Ribery bouncing it in off of Gomez or Robben rifling in a blast off of one of his cuts, but they're just so basic. Marco Reus would've been absolutely perfect for them if Dortmund hadn't already snapped him up.
The D is still a work in progress, but I think that they're getting close to having a great Defense again, especially once they can play Schweini and Gustavo together on a regular basis in front of their backline. A top notch Center back still in his prime to anchor the backline would be huge for them and really help sort the pieces out. Someone like Hummels would be absolutely perfect right about now...

And they're sporting a great D moving forward, although frankly in the games I've watched the defense's biggest problems were from lulling themselves to sleep, the way Bayern carefully, meticulously holds possession waiting for someone to do something special results in a lot of guys standing around and getting pulled out of the game, so that when they get put under pressure they need to scramble.
I really think if they could play more freely up front and were more aggressive with their possessions they'd dominate possession a little less, but would score more goals and suffer less defensive third ****. In an ideal world they try to sell Mario and maybe one of their Wingers, I'd be leaning towards Robben. Go after a striker like the aforementioned Cavani, Van Persie, Berbatov or Torres to replace him and you've got yourself an elite first unit.
