Before anyone says something about me being a Nets fan, I acknowledge I'm probably bias in this case. But I also know what a rebuild is/looks like. And I'm definitely not saying take the Nets trade, before you accuse me of that either. Just looking for discussion.

For me, personally, it's because we'd get a scorer that we haven't since TMac, we'd get the guy I wish Dwight would play like, defense, rebounds, and putbacks, and that's it. for Dwight and Hedo most likely. so it'd be the team we have now, but a downgrade from C, with a HUGE upgrade at SF.

Yeah Melo/Chandler for Dwight/Hedont/BBD makes us a better team than we are now IMO by a ton.

Jameer would play great with Melo as a ballhandler and we would have someone to close out a game and draw doubles for JJ and Ryan to hit the 3 ball

Imagine

Jameer
JRich/JJ
Melo
Anderson
Chandler

Thats a very good team IMO that is a top 3 or 4 seed for sure and better than NYK or Orl at this present time

This says we are looking at rolling the dice with a 10% chance at hoping he stays and preferring the 18mil in capspace as opposed to any of the deals out there. A plan I agree with, if you have any chance at keeping him you try and if you fail you get the 18 mil in capspace if he walks.

It also says the GS owner is bats*&t crazy and won't make a deal for anyone not named Dwight.

This could get crazy.

I can't remember correctly; but did Ownership of the Warriors change around the time they signed Marc Jackson?

GSW used to be Otis' favorite shopping spot; but now the owner is saying "Dwight or bust!" ???

I could see a ton of teams that would take a chance on him with a 2nd rounder. Dallas/LAL/Portland/NY/NJ/Mil/Miami come to mind.

I just don't have any faith in our organization to develop him AT ALL. He should have been in the D League when he wasn't injured for the last year and a half if he wasn't ready.

Yep. what I don't understand is why we're doing this for Orton, who is an expiring, instead of someone like J-Rich, or Hedo, or BBD, etc. that have contracts past this year... we should go into free up cap space mode.

Orlando Sentinel: Magic GM Otis Smith says "six to eight" teams are still calling him to try to acquire or "rent" Dwight Howard.

John Denton ‏ @JohnDenton555
Asked wherever I go what will happen in D.Howard saga. My thought: D-12 stays in Orl until July then makes decision. I'm in minority there.

Really curious who they could be....I'd guess

Atlanta
Golden State
LA Lakers
LA Clippers
NY
..................
Indy?
Portland?
Cleveland (shot in the dark cause I can't think of anyone else)

It would be great if we could get Horford and Smoove and maybe Teague with picks for Dwight. there, we'd still be a bad team with good pieces to build around IMO.

Houston is a pretty safe bet, I'd say.

Yea that makes sense....hate their pieces though aside from Lowry and that's not going to be nearly enough from them.

If one of those teams calling is the OKC Thunder... uhh hello Otis, ask for this! [btw, there is no way OKC will trade Ibaka, so don't even ask for him]
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=8ynr3gk

Run with this line-up (this season we are allowed to have 16 players).

PG-Westbrook/Nelson/Ish
SG-Harden/Redick/Wafer/Liggins
SF-J-Rich/Hedo/Q-Rich/Clark*
PF-Anderson/BBD/Harper/Clark*
C- Perkins/Mohammed/Clark*

*can play multiple positions

Westbrook is a stud, and Harden is a legit borderline star SG. Move J-Rich to SF. Bring Nelson, Redick, and Hedo off the bench (depth!). You have Anderson (a very good improving player) still on the team to receive timely passes from Westbrook and Harden when the defense collapses due to their dribble penetration. Defensively we are still solid at C (Perkins, Mohammed) and at PF (Ryan and Davis); and we are better defensively at PG (Westbrook), and SG (Harden, Redick)... we improve in those areas believe it or not. Westbrook will be the man on the team, and so will Harden and Ryan. We get a play-maker and creator; and we still maintain our depth and defensive abilities. We also instantly become more athletic and our fast break opportunities will increase.

Assuming its something like 12/Hedo or Baby we'd be

Teague
JRich
Smooth
Ryno
Horford

That teams decent in my opinion. I would probably try and upgrade our center spot (LOL) and move Big Al to PF where he'll probably be more effective. I'd be more about it as well if Smooth was going to stick around but he's got one more year then he'll probably jet.

So we could use him as a nice trading chip or something? maybe we could get a decent C?
