Dwight is the only one who brought this crap on. He requested in December that he wanted to be traded. It should not be up to his discretion on where he is traded.

If I am working for a company and they say that I have to be transferred to a different city, I go - No if's and's or but's about it.

The rub is that this isn't a regular job where you have rights to an employees services indefinitely. If I am making a trade for someone, I want some kind of guarantee that I will get a good return for my trade and 45 days is not a good return.

You say that if you are transferred, you go "No if's and's or but's about it". But in Dwight's case he is saying, "transfer me and I'll quit and find a better job in a city i want to be in". If I tried that with my job I would be bluffing. Everyone knows Dwight isn't. So when Dwight opened his mouth with his list, he effectively screwed the Magic front office. instead of 29 teams fighting to up their offers to respectable, he picked two teams that can sign him outright. That's why we are stick with dumb offers like the chance to overpay Brook Lopez this summer, or some other bad deal that signs us up for 60% of the value of Dwight for 95% of the cost.

I thought Harden had a contract throughout next season :/

Either way, as much as I'd like to get him, I doubt that OKC would want to break up what they've got going (although it will be interesting to see them try to pay everyone in a few years)...

Well Dwight can dictate where he goes IF, the team trading for him, wants a commitment.
However if a team offers us the best deal, and it's for a rental? He's SOL.

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

You are right. I don't know why I thought this was a contract year for him.

after all this douche-baggery, the only reason i feel a desire to keep howard is to prove the media and broussards and the trolling nets fans wrong and i think it would be good for the franchise to not have another shaq-like scenario.

however the other part of me has been so miserable as a fan this season, i just want him out of there for the best return. and the best return is not the nets. and after how's hes treated this organization and teammates this season, f**k his "list".

i would love for him to be traded to some sh*t box rental team he hates like kings or gs or somewhere where he is not the biggest star and its clear (lakers or bulls). that way, he'd have to put his money where his mouth is and walk in free agency to NJ if he wants, and we'll still have gotten assets for him, but it will tarnish his image and be inconvenient and embarrassing for him to be on 3 teams within 3 months.

i feel confidence in alex matins doing the right thing. and i feel confident otis will be gone. and i would much rather watch a team like the cavs or sixers for the next few years and have fun cheering for our team again.

The Warriors think they have an A- asset in their hands and they want an A in return. The best dream I can come up with for that issue is letting NY/LA dump Amare/Gasol on them, we take Monta and somehow the Knicks/Lakers get something decent from us like Rich and Nelson. I obviously haven't put much thought into it, but the only All-Star level big men that are even on the block are Gasol and Amare.

Uh because no one is going to trade for Dwight unless he wants to sign with them long term? isn't this obvious?

What seems to be the fascination with Ellis? I don't get it. Am I the only one?
May I see some documentation on that please?

Alex Kennedy ‏ @AlexKennedyNBA
I don't think we'll see many trades at the deadline. Teams don't want new faces with limited practice time and playoffs around the corner.

Well, Philly seems to be in on the Ellis sweepstakes (maybe they just want to raise the price for us) and they are dangling Igoudala which makes zero sense unless they really think Evan Turner is their full-time starter. I honestly think paying Lou half of what Monta gets for 90% of the production is a win for Philly. They just need a better offense.

its not. But no one is going to trade for him if he wont agree to stay. Why would they give up any good asset in a trade for a 2 month rental of Dwight?
