The reaction by every person on this board hearing about Hammond taking these phone calls:

Jackson/Bogut/Delfino for Dalembert/Martin/Knicks pick.

It works in the trade checker.

It works in Kohl's mind. "Win now and win later. We CAN do both you know!"

You mean like Al Jefferson plus the picks because Hammond likes to compete for the 8th while rebuilding....

I would definitely settle for Jefferson plus the picks. :D

I'm not a fan of Jefferson, but if we got both those picks I'd still do it. I could see him just doing a straight swap though, which would be gross.

Thus this type of trade frees up cash to pay Ersan and brings in an asset at another area of need.

If they were to lock up a top 5 (maybe 10) lottery pick with this trade, I'd be OK if the deal also involved a win-now piece like Crawford, especially if it included additional outgoing salary.

I could even see something like:

Bogut + Ersan for Al Jefferson + Utah's 1st + Warrior's 1st via Utah

:droop:

Anything to have three picks in the lottery. That would actually give us a decent chance to move up as well.

Bittersweet is right. Bogut was the crown jewel of our last blow-up (bottoming out after splitting up the Big 3, and we attempted to build around Bogut with a whole bunch of lotto picks - Yi, CV, Alexander, Harris. It didn't work out, and we all know it. Still, it would really sink in if/when we deal the guy and truly admit defeat. Nearly 10 years of "rebuilding" and the organization finally admitting that nothing has been accomplished.

It's posts like these that make me think the sun's about to rise over the Bucks...then I sit back and realize who our brass is.

My God...how incredibly bright the Bucks could come out looking by unloading Bogut. We're going to find someway to **** this up.

I definitely think parting ways with Bogut at this point could benefit both parties.

I think it's time, as well. I love Bogut, but for the best interest of both parties, it's finally time to move on. I'd like to see Bogut play on a good team and accomplish something in his career. The Bucks need picks and they need to hit on a superstar.

But, if Hammond blows this, he should be banned from ever even watching an NBA game. You either get picks and youth for Bogut, or you don't trade him. I'm fearing PP's worst case scenario of Dalembert and Martin to chase the 7th seed.

This is fantastic (if true) in theory, but will be straight-trash in execution. I have zero faith in this being done correctly. Hammond will mortgage our future to try and save our present. I put the chances on us giving up our own first way higher than actually bringing back a second one.

If you're irritated by the cynicism, don't blame me. It's the Bucks' fault.

We can win a lot of games with a Gooden/Ersan frontcourt. Ship Bogut while we can.

So there will be 5,000 paid seats instead of 5,050. I'm guessing Bogut didn't actually have to pay for them anyways.

You're guessing wrong.

Kinda doubt Utah would do the ones you guys are proposing.

I haven't kept tabs on Okur and I realize he's expiring but how are they going to sort out the logjam of:

Bogut/Jefferson
Favors/Milsap

I know some would say "a good problem to have" but I doubt they'd set it up that way.

Also, I totally support this from the Bogut POV, as well. I am one to take a "business" approach to sports (i.e. Favre), but if we want to get into the personal side I'd be happy to see him get healthy and find success on a team that is actually good.

Gery has gotten pretty much nothing right in about 3 years and usually is so far off base he might as well be talking about a different sport. Don't think I'll pay much attention until someone I vaguely believe reports it.

I kid you not, if that happened I'd send Hammond the biggest hate e-mail then post his e-mail and cell phone # on here.

John, if you're reading this, the ball's in my court. Don't **** us.
