WizD did because of his "ability to block shots from the perimeter."
Oh? We all make mistakes.

He won the poll about who we least wanted to draft.
I am not upset about this game. There is a reason the Spurs have several rings. They know how to play and there was no way they were going to lose at home to the Wizards.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Raise that trade value! Hope some GM's only look at box scores.

Yeah, getting away from the boos made Blatche feel so comfortable he shot 3-10, including a brick off the side of the backboard and an airball that missed by two feet. And oh yeah, the team was -15 when he was on the floor. Yep, if only the fans at home would stop booing him, the Wiz could get play like that on the regular.

Wizards Vs. Spurs Clipboard: John Wall And Playing Every Second Of Every Possession

That said, I think the Spurs could gave been had because they are just not that good defensively, especially on the interior. JaVale McGee had an exceptional game, but his success goes a long way to explaining why San Antonio was upset last year. A team like Memphis or Denver will eat them up inside.
What is JaVale McGee Worth in a Trade?
On the surface, quite a bit.
In reality…

In Reality or in the minds of Wizards fans and Wittman?
In reality an athletic big that can score on his own without needing an assist, rebound decently, at least attempt to defend the rim, and actually stay healthy are rare. In Wizards land he’s horrible and making the delicate budding superstar worse by simply being near him.
McGee is not very good.but if you watch what other centers look like you quickly realize most of them are either place holders that occasionally defend well or injured constantly. McGee is above them and below the actually good centers. I’d love to see this team give him as many shots as they give Crawford for 5 games straight just to see what happens.

this is so real
the dearth of centers in the league combined with his high physical ceiling means he is much more valuable than most wizards fans give him credit for(sadly)…i just hope EG doesn’t do anything stupid before he’s fired.
