WizD did because of his "ability to block shots from the perimeter."

He won the poll about who we least wanted to draft.

I am not upset about this game. There is a reason the Spurs have several rings. They know how to play and there was no way they were going to lose at home to the Wizards.

The Wizards had a chance to get it down to 6 points when Mason missed a shot. They did trail by 8 when you or others mentioned Wittman could have got Wall back in. It wouldn't have mattered IMO. Parker would have gone to work on Wall right away.

I'm satisfied with the effort. The Spurs are much better. Washington isn't the brightest bunch. We got their best, I guess.

Only one things made a difference this game.

SA is a machine. Their passing was a thing of beauty to watch. They pass to get open shots. And Parker was carving them up.

Wizards out dribbled them 3 to 1 easily.

Should be some good tape for Randy to play back to show them how it is done.

Wiz should have gotten blown out. They did well to even keep it close. Mentioning Ves as any kind of issue is beyond misguided. He actually played pretty damn well while he was in there. Rebounds. Kept the ball alive. Made nice passes. Active hands. He is probably the only Wizards that could plug right into SA system because he passes quick. He knows where to go with it before he catches it. That is what SA does.

Most the Wizards catch, hold or dribble, then figure out where to go with the ball after they figure out if they can shoot it or not. Ves is one of the smartest players on the team and he is only a rookie.

On the plus-side, we are no-longer struggling to break 75+ points a night like we were under Flip....but we are giving-up 110 or so a night.

The good news is that Wall made 5 jumpers. Earlier in the season that would have been unthinkable.

The bad news is that those were the only field goals he made. The Spurs were not going to let him get to the rim and his floater is still a work in progress.

Go McGee!

Raise that trade value! Hope some GM's only look at box scores.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Don't know if you watched this one. What I saw was a guy who was clearly the best player on the Wizards tonight, by far. He had a great block on one of Duncan's attempts.

Nick racking up zero assist in back to back game after a career high of 6

Only player on the Wizards to have no an assist other the KS who played 2 minutes but he lead the team in turnovers

That's not where we want CHA to get it's wins, NO only has one more win than the Wiz - we don't want to climb into 3rd place.

The Spurs team offense was a a beauty to behold, such a well-oiled operation. I am impressed with how-quickly they can get new players and rookies acclimated so quickly.

Mike Lee's article about Blatche getting "relief" from the boos makes me want to vomit. Yeah, getting away from the boos made Blatche feel so comfortable he shot 3-10, including a brick off the side of the backboard and an airball that missed by two feet. And oh yeah, the team was -15 when he was on the floor. Yep, if only the fans at home would stop booing him, the Wiz could get play like that on the regular.

10 shots in only 17 minutes with matador D. I don't understand how the Wizards were able to win games without him.

Dray looks horrible out-there, he isn't even fit to play in the D-League.

This is unacceptable by JaVale.

Letting a 35 year old PF/C with no cartilage in his knees drive by you and dunk while you put your head down and not even contest?

FAH, I watched this game. Forgive this long rant to follow, but I have to speak up for Javale's effort.

I know a lot of people cannot wait for McGee to be traded, but i don't get it. Not many people are calling for Jamal Crawford or Nick Young to stop taking bad shots. FAH, you could have shown a YouTube of McGee blocking Duncan's shot. He made a terrific floater. He faced up and shot it very well. He had some beautiful hook shots go in yesterday. He was not the culprit in any way.

When Javale was 8-9 FG, Crawford looked McGee off three times (IIRC) and he put up 2 terrible forced shots. Young shot two terrible shots, too, in the third, when McGee still had only missed once. Javale ended up with 21 points and 15 rebounds in under 30 minutes. He shot 9-13 FG. Crawford shot 7-18FG. Nick shot well but he still forced some shots, terribly, in the third. But as bad as their shots were, they weren't terrible.

If you wanted to post a terrible YouTube video, you could have found at least 7 or 8 plays where Wall did a TERRIBLE job on Parker. Wall's defense was as bad as it gets. He also stopped even trying to get to the rim.

If you wanted to post a terrible video, Andray Blatche shot a brick so badly, I wondered how he did it from so close. He is so out of shape it is embarrassing to watch. The Wizards won't get him traded this way. Nobody would want that guy they're showcasing.

Anyway, FAH, you might be very angry with me. I'm sorry, but I'm angry that two days before the trade deadline, nobody is outraged at Crawford's minutes and shots and calling for him to be traded. He is a jacker who kills a team. Same with Nick Young--no assists, again. Also, Wall has turned his game around a bunch on the offensive end, but his defense at times is so bad that it frustrates me.

End of rant, but the last thing I expected was a play where McGee didn't foul Duncan in SA.

(BTW, McGee has had three strong games in a row against LAL, POR, and SA; but some folks can't wait to see him go)

Here is a link to an article on bullets forever about John Wall last game.

It shows some bad plays, if you want to dare bash John Wall. I won't other than to say his effort was less than stellar.

That said, I think the Spurs could gave been had because they are just not that good defensively, especially on the interior. JaVale McGee had an exceptional game, but his success goes a long way to explaining why San Antonio was upset last year. A team like Memphis or Denver will eat them up inside.

What is JaVale McGee Worth in a Trade?
On the surface, quite a bit.

In reality…

In Reality or in the minds of Wizards fans and Wittman?
In reality an athletic big that can score on his own without needing an assist, rebound decently, at least attempt to defend the rim, and actually stay healthy are rare. In Wizards land he’s horrible and making the delicate budding superstar worse by simply being near him.

McGee is not very good.but if you watch what other centers look like you quickly realize most of them are either place holders that occasionally defend well or injured constantly. McGee is above them and below the actually good centers. I’d love to see this team give him as many shots as they give Crawford for 5 games straight just to see what happens.

by Destino on Mar 12, 2012 11:30 PM EDT up reply

this is so real
the dearth of centers in the league combined with his high physical ceiling means he is much more valuable than most wizards fans give him credit for(sadly)…i just hope EG doesn’t do anything stupid before he’s fired.

21 and 15 in 29 minutes
i mean…seriously?? people on BF want to trade a player that can put up those types of numbers without any sort of real offensive moves for like klay thompson straight up…loool

That is just a sample that shows some others share my feelings about McGee.

Since the all star break McGee has played with renewed energy. I think he's playing very well the past 5 games. I hope he does well if/when he is traded.
