Yes he does. The question is why the hell do we have any interest in anything besides expiring contracts?

Say you guys get back what you want, Steph Curry. Where does that leave us? A 35-40 win team next year and more than likely continued draft picks around the 10-15 range. How does that help us long term? We would have nothing to draw free agents with, and no high draft pick.

The only way this team gets fixed long term is 1) tanking and 2) getting rid of the pieces we have now.

How the **** does expirings help us? It would free up money for Ersan to be resigned, we'd be the EXACT same team going into next season.

We'd still be mediocre but good enough to make the playoffs.
We'd have no assets left trading Bogut for nothing.
We;d have cap space the next season to add mediocre free agents to a mediocre team.

Trading Bogut for expirings doesn't help us get out of this hole, it digs it much, much deeper.

Your logic is awful.

Nobody here actually thinks Ellis is going to make us better, or at least I don't.

All Stephen Curry will do is enable us to continue doing what we've been doing the last few seasons, which is stay mediocre. I guess if everyone wants to keep fighting it out for the 8 seed every year then trading Bogut for Curry is the right move.

Your logic is **** awful.

Trading for Curry = staying mediocre
Trading for Ellis = getting out of the hole

How in the **** does that make any **** sense? Holy ****.

This had better be BS. Udoh is horrendous too. This is a lose/lose trade.

Oh, there'd be a little bit of win for GSW in that one.

Which literally might be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. You're saying cap room is a bad thing because it would enable us to sign a player who doesn't even want to be here first of all, and who we don't have to sign.

This is akin to saying cap room is a bad thing because Luke Walton is a free agent and we'd have the cap room to sign him.

Cap room and blowing up the team = long term high draft picks.

Trading Bogut for Curry = 10th pick in the draft for the next 3 or 4 years, then stuck in the same place we are now.

Also, this fits a Bucks trade to a tee.

Even though Ellis isn't very good, he's win now. He's healthy and he looks good on paper to us because he scores over 20 ppg.

Also, we don't maximize the assets. Instead of squeezing Klay Thompson out of them, we include Jax and then sell low on Udoh.

This is the PERFECT Bucks move. Only more perfect deal would be Bogut for Dalembert/Martin.

Just a thought..........Still think my Gordon is the best deal out there and there had to be a reason why BuckPack was silent all day and then i Proposed that and he responded right away

I see absolutely no reason for the Hornets to make that trade. With Bogut, they are no where near a playoff team, he's wasted talent. At least Gordon is young enough for a rebuild. I think that trade is awful as well.

Baddy, you need to look at the trade before you comment. Bogut goes to Warriors, Curry and Brown to Horents and Gordon, Okafor and t-wolves pick to Bucks. The league wants to sell the team and having no long team salaaries on it makes sense.

CURRY IS BETTER THEN A TOP 10 PICK AND HE IS AROUND THE SAME AGE.

You are condoning trading Bogut for nothing to hopefully draft a player like Curry, how the **** don't you understand that?

A question for all of the Chinese fans. Are you disappointed that Joe Alexander is gone? You know, he actually spoke Chinese! Have you not followed the Bucks as much since his departure?

I DON'T WANT A SINGLE TOP 10 PICK, how the **** don't you understand that?

Getting Curry PREVENTS us from getting high draft picks the same way Ellis would, the difference being Ellis would be here SHORT TERM.

What I want is this team blown up and for us to stop pretending like we're one or two pieces away from winning a championship. If we get Steph Curry, we're going to be the same **** team we are every year, attempting to fill the holes with players like Dunleavy and Chris Douglas-Roberts.

The way I look at it, freeing up cap space isn't that useful for a small market team like us. Who wants to come here? Maybe some solid players if we can play them good money but no game-changing superstars will come to Milwaukee unless we're already extremely competitive (and even that's doubtful).

What the Ellis trade gives us is worse value then what we should be getting for Bogut, do we get cap space? Yup. Is cap space the most important thing for us? No. We need picks and young players the most, with draft picks we have a chance to have a top 3 pick and land ourselves a quality player. And young players like Stephen Curry always have a chance to get better. Curry might be often injured, but he is an extremely efficient shooter which is just what we need. Efficient shooting is what this team needs desperately.

So, will the Curry trade make us worse? Yes. Bogut's defense and rebounding is valuable to have especially with the big man pool wearing thin. But it still gives us a player that is already valuable because of his shooting. I think the trade will put us in a good direction if it pans out. And if it doesn't? Well at least we didn't make a trade for the black holes that are Bargnani or Ellis. We might still be in the mediocrity area with a Curry trade BUT if Jennings and other pieces are dealt later on and we can grab more draft picks (and hopefully use them on good players...)

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
