I may be in the minority & sound crazy but if we drafted Davis I would struggle to give him up in any trade.
You could very well be giving up the next superstar big man in the NBA.
I'd offer them Lopez, Wallace & Brooks with what ever rookie we draft with the Houston pick if were lucky enough to get their pick.
Like I said I just wouldn't give up Davis as some others seem to be ready to do.
I know he's a rookie & both are utter pipe dreams but could you imagine a Howard/Davis front court?
Yes, I could but given our situation, we will probably need to sacrifice long term dreams for short term realities.
The fact of the matter is that while the kid is an absolute hound on defense, it would take a minimum of 2-3 years for him to develop any semblance of a respectable post game.
This is exactly what Davis will be next year, except (dare I say) with even less of a post game.

The Nets aren't going to want to wait until D-Will is 1/2 done with his new contract for the guy to become a stud.
Even though he could be like the next KG, he'd probably need to get traded so that we have super talent asap.
I know your reluctance to trade him but if 6 years, he'll be just entering his prime at 25, while D-Will would be 33 looking at 34. Davis is kinda the next generation and the Nets would trade for LMA who is an all-star now for a guy who has the chance to be an even bigger star several years down the road when the title window for D-Will will start to close.
