I'm all for the trade and would do it again but we gave up a ton.

I don't mean to hit below the belt, but you're sounding like one of these ND spinsters right now.(Runs and hides so Jeff doesn't hurt me)

Don't you remember the mood in here during last years trade deadline before the Deron trade? The outlook for this team was at an all-time low. We had just endured the 12 win season, swinging and whiffing big time in the 2012 fee agency, we missed out on John Wall and had zero star power. This team was in a terrible position with Brooklyn looming.

-Devin wasn't gonna net us any valuable picks. Remember Dallas didn't want to trade anything of value to get him. We were looking at a Miller for Harris swap straight up.
-Favors isn't a stud anything. Stud players are those projected to make all-star teams in the future, and Favors doesn't appear to be one of those players IMO. He can be really good, but I'd rather have a legit top 10 player any day.
-we had a group of draft picks and still did before the stupid Wallace trade. We only traded our 2011 lotto pick which was a weak draft... unless you regret missing out on Knight and Walker (players we would have probably picked). Utah won't even be getting GS's pick this year anyways.

Jeff, My post was not meant as a rant but more as a look back over what we have done in the last 2.5 years. I'm saying look what we have given up! Anyway you sell it we gave up a ton to get D-Will. I would do the trade again also... Things haven't gone exactly our way (or maybe they have) who knows.... But is this franchise cursed or is it run by fools ALL these years.... Bearing in mind we gave Kerry Kittles to the clippers for thier (unprotected) first round pick..... What happens next? Clippers make the playoffs for the only time in the last 15 years.... That pick turns into marcos or boone i can't remember exactly which one... but would have been a high lotto pick any other year... Again the question I origianally asked

Are we freakin cursed or fools?

Yes, we're cursed. We sold Dr. Jay to our rivals the Knicks, a la Red Sox sold Babe Ruth to the Yankees.

Can't wait to move to Brooklyn.

Wrong.

He's a stud everything.

Maybe you guys will land #1 and keep Deron afterall. Stranger things have happened. Best of luck from a Jazz fan.

You guys are crazy of you think the deron trade wasn't awful, it was- especially for a rebuilding team. Favors is one of the best prospects in the game and I personally think Kanter can be very good as well. If I had to redo last years draft I'm pretty sure Kanter would still go top 5 he's shown some flashes.

It's only awful if Deron walks.

Also, it will be compounded by the Wallace trade if Deron walks and really just flat out either way, that trade was all time bad.

I don't think you guys realize how good Favors and Kanter will be.

-Favors is only 20 and Kanter is 19.

-Kanter doesn't get the minutes but look at his game against the Lakers the other night. His potential is through the roof.

Favors has a world of potential but to make it out that a player will automatically be great just because right now he's young and isn't is pointless.

I do like Favors a lot though.

Kanter, eh, he's solid. I don't see anything special about him what so ever, but he looks like he has a very good chance at being an average starter.
