I don't get it, why not try something DIFFERENT?

i agree but otis just gave the man 25$mil when a player like sam young can do what hes doing for 500k.

I don't care how much these players are getting paid, they need to be benched for the benefit of the team. And if some of them weren't so selfish and prideful, they would ask the coach to bench them until they are ready to get back into the lineup.

We're not talking about starting these guys, at least I don't think we are. Yes, they can change the game and improve our offense with their speed, energy, and talent, yes talent. As for what they can do now, now that Stan has kept them buried on the bench all season, probably not much. But long term, you could see them coming in and replacing people for 2nd unit spots and maybe some 6th man type minutes. Ish for one, can do everything you mentioned.

I'll agree to disagree with sentiments that Von, Liggins, or Ish are game changers. Sure, I'd love to see them all get more minutes, but the guys that play the core of minutes don't have the athleticism to draw double teams, get into the paint, or get to the line. I know that it's Stan's system, but I think for this roster, it's the one that works the best. Do I like it? Not at all. I hate it. But surround Dwight with some athletes, and the system will change.

You expect games like this when you have stiffs that do nothing but shoot 3's. I expect games like this. I can't blame Stan. I look at our record, and we've definitely overachieved this season. Our team just doesn't have the offensive diversity to score consistently. And when 3's don't fall, we get blown out. I can't blame Stan for that. That's the make up of the team. That's the players he's handed. Not a single player can take their guy off the dribble. It's pick n roll or hope Dwight is playing well.

Wafer, Liggins, and Ish, can't even shoot 3's, because they want to get to the basket... I'm tired of hearing "what else do you expect from a 3pt shooting team?" we don't have to be a three point shooting team... Meer has shown he can do more than shoot threes, obviously Dwight doesn't shoot 3's... I also listed 3 other players in the beginning of this post... we don't HAVE TO SHOOT THREES...... we could sprinkle a few 3 point plays here and there for guys like Redick, Ryan, and Rich.... but we don't NEED to shoot 25+ 3's per game....

Is Von or Liggins the guys that significantly improve this team from what it is now? It's not like their first steps are going to beat premier defenders to the basket. Meer is as inconsistent as any player in the league. I love his heart, but for every few good games Jameer and Hedo have, a few bad ones are on the way. I think you're underrating them...

1. Liggins and Ish have shown a pass first mentality...
2. with the way these 3 get to the basket, it would collapse the defense, opening up our 3pt shooters...
3. we can draw more fouls simply by attacking the basket...
4. even if I am in fact "overrating" them, so what? the terrible players we play are old and we're not going anywhere with them... if we play the young guys, we could groom them into pretty good players... and, we don't know how good they can be... Turk is trash and will be trash for the rest of his career... Rich is getting too old to do anything other than shoot jumpers... Ryan is showing that all he can do is stand at the 3pt line and chuck away and get a few rebounds here and there....

Perhaps long term, but Liggins isn't ready for primetime yet. Nor is Clark, as shown tonight.

I support Ish though. He should get that back up point position, but I don't see it as a huge improvement for our offense. Creators for others is what this team lacks.

how do we trade someone owed 25mil when they arent getting any playing time? i hope jrich has a decent playoffs so we can move him, which will prob. cost a 1st round pick.

Wow, Liggins might be the next Jordan than because if he's not ready yet and is still ten times better than most of our guys than he's going to be scary... but seriously, why not just try and play Liggins, Wafer, and Ish some more? we ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE ANYWAY... why not just try? they might make us a bit better and give 0.01% chance to actually pass the first round...

You trade him for an expiring and count it a lost. I truly believe we have no hope of trading half these players. If we do a buyout for these players does it still count on the payroll?

All of them were when we were fully healthy too... when J-Rich and Turk were injured, we beat the Heat AND the Bulls b2b... when Stan's hand is forced (meaning we start JJ and Q) we win games... coincidence???? but, I know people are just gonna keep defending Stan for starting J-Rich and Hedo...

Excluding Hornets, you'll notice that all of these teams are great defensive teams. And I include Knicks on there because since they had Woodson, they have become a great defensive team.

1. Pass first, but does it set teammates up for easy shots? That's the key. Do we have a guy on our team that can break a D down and get his own shot or one for a teammate.
2. I'm not convinced Liggins, Von, and Ish are going to get into the teeth of great defenses like the Heat or Bulls.
3. Maybe
4. Here's the big one and the core of the argument. Stan won't bench Hedo, Ryan, or Jameer. He knows in order for us to have a chance with this roster, those players have to play well. I get your frustration with the 3 point chucking. Trust me, I understand as much as the next guy. But, I do think that with this roster, it gives us the only chance to compete. Stan isn't going to play players he doesn't trust (youth/new guys like Von, Liggins, Ish). I do believe they should get more burn in the 2nd unit, but I don't believe their efforts make us that much better.

I don't think Stan is completely hands free here. If I was him I'd bench JRich and start JJ, and play Ish over Duhon. And perhaps even bench Hedo for Q. I think that promotes the best diversity offensively between the two lineups. We get a better wing defender in Q and a better shooter in JJ in the SL, and we get a facilitator in the 2nd unit in Hedo.

But again, I'll agree to disagree. I don't think Stan is the real issue with this team and the horrible losses. I expect nothing more or less from objectively looking at the roster. We'll have great games where we blow opponents out, and we'll have terrible ones where we get run out of the gym.
