I think if we get pick one two three or four our picks will be out of Davis, MKG, t-rob or Drummond

Taking anyone of them will all result in either Vesely, Booker or Singleton being traded. I personally see booker having the best value.

Beal is declaring today. Good News.

Actually a beautiful off-ball rotating seal and screen by Jeff Withey on that play opened the lane for TRob to taxi down the runway for lift-off. I'm more and more impressed with the subtle things done by the gawky looking center. He looks like he'll fill a roster for a while on winning teams in this league. Love TRob too, with his work ethic and progression so far I expect he's not a finished product. I don't see it as a knock that he has developed suddenly following family tragedy. That he may have seemingly come from no where to seize the opportunity left by both Morris twins vacating the front court. If anything that speaks to his determination focus and ability to work on his game. He knew he would have to play a larger role and worked his tail off in the offseason to be able to justify it. Constant improvement is the only path to perfection. That way leads to a championship.

Beal is going pro, the others have until the 29th. So about 2.5 weeks.

Tell me this guy wont play the next decade with a chip on his shoulder. He has an amazing first step and rebounding ability (both things that transfer perfectly to NBA). I think KU's lack of depth made him "careful" on defense and believe he will be an above average defender in the Pros as well.

He's the anti-Blatche. I think he'll be our pick if Davis isnt there. I think I like him for this team more than MKG.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

I think Thomas Robinson will have a long and productive pro career that doesn't quite justify his likely draft position. I think he will be along the lines of Kurt Thomas, Joe Smith and Juwan Howard. All were great college players and good but unexceptional pros. If we didn't have Nene, I could be more in favor of picking him. He is the ultimate high floor pick.

I think you are guys are falling in love with his background story. Juan Dixon had a pretty tough background story too but he was an undersized Shooting guard with no defense. He was great at shooting but we found that one dimensional players that don't dominate college competition usually turn out as bust if picked to highly. Beasely was a outstanding rebounder in college. Another undersized player, the landlord shelden williams, similiar dominant rebounder but extremely undersized with a high motor picked way to high. Very hardworker and even better defensively. I am just not in love with drafting undersized rebounders that don't dominate at other facets of the game. I personally think he is juan dixon playing shooting guard except hustling under the boards is swapped for juan dixon's shooting.
I see alot of trevor booker in him offensively, which isn't a bad thing, but for the wizard's, its not a good thing either.
There is a difference between a dominant physical above the rim rebounder like a dwight howard and scrappy under the basket rebounder like a reggie Evans and Kris Humphries. I think its important not to get the two types mixed up.
If T-Rob fell to 10-15 and we had an extra pick, i would consider him as a energy big coming off the bench but defeinitely not as longterm center piece to a championship team only because we already have his type with booker, which we spent late two 1st round picks for.
Build your team w/5 shooters using P. Pierce Form deeply bent hips and lower back arch at same time b4 rising into shot. Elbow never pointing to the ground! Good teams have an engine player that shoot volume (2000 full season) at 50 percent.Large Hands

Nick Youngs story is one of the saddest going around. That's probably why I had a soft spot for him

I disagree with your comparisons. Juwan and Joe don't have the athletic ability that Robinson does. I honestly don't remember what Kurt Thomas was like when he first got in the league so I can't comment there. I think Robinson has a high floor, but its a mistake to think he's near his ceiling. He's 21, but this was his first shot at extensive pt since he was playing behind the Morris twins. He was consistently doubvle & triple teamed as the season wore on and still found a way to be productive. He;ll have more space to operate in the pros and I think can develop a facae up game. He can develop into a 20/10 guy.

T-Rob is a future all star. Book it. I'd pick him second. We'd have a great frontline with holes only at back up PG and wing players.

You would not have to worry about the frotn court for years (barring injury). You'd have a 3 man rotation of Nene, Robinson, & Seraphin. We'll have a transition already in place for when Nene's production begins to decline w/ Seraphin. Vesely or Booker can then be moved (i'd move Booker) for a wing....The other can provide further depth.

We'd be set at the 1, 4, & 5.

Big +1 here.

Trivia question: Who was the top shot-blocker in the NCAA this year? Anthony Davis, right?

Actually, if you filter out role players (looking only at players averaging more than 12 minutes per game), Withey has the top Block % in the country. He blocked 15.3% of opponent's shots, while Davis blocked 13.7% of opponents' shots.

Think about that - about 1 in 6 shots from KU opponents were blocked by one guy. If opponents shot 50% on all other shots, that still would leave a Defensive FG% of 42.3% when Withey is on the floor.

Withey is already 22 years old, but is a Junior based on his commitment to Arizona, then transferring to KU after Lute Olson retired. Don't know if he'll declare, the draft sites semm to think he'll go back for his Senior year, which would be smart.

But - it's easy to imagine him on the Wiz as a specialist providing the length that we don't currently have (at least until we draft Davis...). He could be our "in case of emergency" player, for when an opposing frontcourt has too much length for Nene & KSera. And he'd be enough of a deep rotation player that you wouldn't worry about sitting him in between emergencies.

So - maybe next year? After we draft a star on the wings and add a big time FA next summer? Withey would be a nice finishing piece, huh?

I'd still take MKG over T. Rob because of position need but frontline of Robinson+Seraphin in the future could be very promising.

I agree that Withey could pan out to be a decent defensive role player in the pros - a la Theo Ratliff, or at least Jim McIllvaine. I'm not sure if it would be wise for us to draft him next year, however. I figure 18 months from now, Jan Vesely will be able to provide much of what Withey provides, but with more mobility.

People are worry about Thomas Robinson size. My concern is Beal height he listed six feet three. He's a good player but His height concerns me especially on the defensive end at the pro level. That's why I don't have him in my top 3 right now. I have him in my top four to six range in the draft.

I think Robinson is about 6-8 without shoes. That's plenty tall enough to play PF in this league, but it means he won't be able to provide any spot minutes at center, like most PF's can.

Height isn't as important as standing reach and robinson has very poor standing reach which is why he doesn't block shots. Singleton is 6'9 but has the same issues, very short standing reach for his height.

If Beal is so small, why did he lead Florida in rebounds -- as a freshman -- with nearly 7 a game? He blocked the same number as shots as John Wall did in his year in college. I don't care he he measures; how plays plenty big.
