I wouldn't get that. The 3rd party controllers are pretty bad. You can get a decent logitech mic for like $15 to play online.

Not really those controllers are **** you are better off buying an extra controller when they go on sale at places like Target. The headset you can pretty much use an bluetooth and buy a even better quality because the remote controller and the TV one are a waste of money and you can use USB to charge your controllers.

I can't tell if you're agreeing with me or not lol. I said those controllers are **** and you said not really then agreed.

Get the PS3. Most people opt for the 360 because all of their friends have it and they ant to play call of duty with them.

The "move" is more for the younger crowd so only if you have kids would i get this. But for the most part i would stay away from the move (its very expensive).

So get the 160 gig for 250

http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-3-160 ... 486&sr=8-1

then buy an extra controller (if you ever want to play with anyone else)

http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Duals ... 553&sr=1-1

Do you have a router? because if you want to get online you will need one.

all in all the PS3 is just better and you dont have to pay anything to get online.

I was responding to him I see your confusion and nah I totally agree with you I have a PS3 I waited to but an extra controller when they were selling for 35 bucks on Black Friday. All the controllers like Big Kat and weird ass companies flat out suck ass and since he isn't a big gamer he doesn't need that cheap headset .

ok, I am going to go back out tomorrow and JUST LOOK this time, ask no questions.

p.s. The XBox looks good up close, but I've always heard about Sony Playstation, what I have decided on though is I am going to hook it up straight to my 32" instead with nothing else. I have too many things attached to my big screen and I don't feel like rewiring - cable box, 2 DVR'S, home theater and good old fashioned VCR.

The Move is a PlayStation accessory that utilizes a camera and special controllers to allow your movements to be incorporated into game play. It's only used for certain games and isn't at all necessary. Xbox has a similar feature called Kinect and Wii has games for the same. I doubt you or your nephews get any utility from that. You can always pick it up later if you want to go that direction. It's probably better to just concentrate on the console itself for now.

What the other salesman was probably trying to communicate is to not get too caught up in one console over the other. The system is pretty much as good as the games you like for it. If you find there are titles you want that are exclusive to one system, it's a better play for you. There's a lot of overlap amongst systems though, especially PS3 and 360, and the distinctions probably aren't going to be of any significance to you given your limited interest. PS3 and 360 offer the most selection and variety.

I wouldn't get bogged down in any bundle offers unless you see one for some games you actually want or think your nephews would want. Like others have said, most of that 3rd party accessories stuff is riddled with issues and would seem needless for you. As the consoles generally only include one controller, an additional stand alone controller from that specific system would seem to suffice and that's only if there's going to be multiple people looking to game at the same time.

If you're making another store visit, I'd swing by a Best Buy or Gamestop or someplace they have kiosks set up where you can get some hands on experience with interacting with the system, seeing how you like the controllers, a few titles, etc.

Really appreciate the comments, I think I am going with the PS3 without the move and then get NBA2K12 AND 2 more games - The XBox is on sale today, but I am going to wait until the PS3 goes on sale again,

Yes I just upgraded my old router to this router http://homestore.cisco.com/en-us/Router ... ewprod.htm - Ok, wasn't sure about the 160 versus 320 gig

Really appreciate this, we have both gamestop and best buy and I was planning on going by there before the game and try to play a little - was crowded yesterday - looks like I am going to go WITHOUT the PS3 bundle with 1 extra controller that jc23 recommended and 1 NBA/1 NFL game for now.

When I bought my consoles they only came with one controller. That's probably still the case so you should budget for that extra controller.

Xbox 360 or Ps3 are great. If you do not have a blue ray player the Ps3 will be a plus. It is the best blue ray player made, and always updateable. I have both Xbox 360 for online game play & ps3 mainly for blue ray. Sweet on a plasma. Besides the Nba 2k, get Call of Duty: MW3 it will be loved. :D :D :) . Extra controller (Sony only) and you are good.

XBOX 360.

The newer versions of the 360 consoles have negated almost every advantage that PS3 had over 360. HDMI capability, built in Wi-Fi, no red ring of death, much quieter, a hard-drive that's bigger than necessary. The lack of all these things led to the PS3 being considered superior, but now that they have fixed all that stuff, I really do not see a reason to go with PS3 anymore. Xbox Live is a much superior online service when compared to PSN, as well.

As has been mentioned, pretty much the only advantage PS3 has right now is Blu-Ray. Not to mention, Playstation is rumored to be rolling out a new system soon so their support for PS3 will likely dwindle.

As someone who has owned both systems, 360 takes the cake.

Hey guys I found a lot of posts here really helpful, I'm in a similar situation as WD where I'm going to get a new gen console and I'd like to hear your opinions.

I only play 2 games: NBA 2k and Madden (sometimes FIFA) but I want to play all of them online.

So which one is better online ? I know Xbox makes you pay so is it much better ?

I'd like to stay with Play station so I don't have to learn a new controller lol but I'd really consider Xbox if online play is much better.

Thanks !

Ps3 is the way to go man!

As far as games 2k12 of course.

If your looking at a shooter Modern Warfare 3

And if you might want to look at the best ps3 game out right now: Uncharted 3

Has won many awards and is an amazing visual and fun experience.

If you don't plan to spend much cause of the online, get PS3. Buy Skyrim, really good game and long, NBA 2K12 or gran turismo if your cousins/nephews are in racing games, and modern warefare3. I personally don't like cod, or else I would buy uncharted 3, but you gotta buy all 3 than lol.

Good choice. BTW if you're going to use it with an HD TV, make sure you get the HDMI cable. Countless people think you can just plug in your ps3 with the color cables and think it's HD just because of the TV.

thanks, got several extra HDMI cables. Small issue, the TV i wanted to put it on in my TV room is not HD - might have to hook it up regular for now, don't want to put it on my living room TV or guest room which are HD.

I second that, X Box 360 game play, online play and graphics beat PS3 easily. I play some heavy COD on both systems tried 2k same. PS3 has blue ray advantage only.
